How do you balance the negotiation on salary with work life balance?

You all have had fascinating and roundabout career paths! At this point, do you view your careers as leading towards an end-goal or a continual journey of emerging opportunities?

Im really bad at networking. How do you get better?

Can any of you speak to how you do some of these in Middle America, meaning not major cities?

I tend to agree that the degree should make a difference. But, in my experience the degree hasn’t helped me at all. That is where I believe the conversation about luck really overshadows. I have an MBA and now I have a JD as well and I am not getting any interviews no less offers. I try and network whenever possible and I attend events such as this and nothing seems to help. So what advice can you give for someone who has faced every roadblock possible and can’t seem to get a foot in the door no less a leg up?

With respect to ESG, and this question may be one Andrew can answer is a background in human rights law at all relevant or helpful and if it is not what skills may help make law graduates attractive for ESG roles?

What is the hiring cycle like, when should we apply for J.D. Advantage Roles? If we are taking the time after graduation to not work full time and study for the bar, will companies understand this, or should we wait to apply until after we take the bar exam?

I know this activity is mainly for the J.D. program, but I would really like to know the chance and trend for LL.M students to work in the U.S. in a non-Lawyer position. (e.g., data analyst, contract manager)
