Hello all, I have a question about the indexing/searching functionality that is proposed that I hope can just be answered in chat as I expect it has been discussed before in some detail.

Given a Resource (per section 4.2.6 of the spec) is it expected that a client can attach arbitrary number or “meta” fields to a particular resource? E.G. for a contact resource you would attach “meta.contentType=CONTACT_FILE” and then an arbitrary number of say “meta.tag=family”, “meta.tag=hasEmail” or would you have a singular “meta.tag=[family, hasEmail,...]? After which both the key of meta.contentType/tag and the values would be encrypted by the client before being stored in the EDV.

eric -- yes, the client could attach an arbitrary number of meta fields
Eric Schuh
11:29
great, thanks

11:39
(and yes, it would be encrypted before sending to the server)

can we talk about Solid and Confidential storage today?

Proposal: The SDS WG will change to alternating calls where we will focus on EDVs on one call and Hubs on the other call. Each group will report into the the other group at least once a month.

Note: Some agents will call EDVs directly.
Orie Steele (Transmute)

Hubs != Edvs… and probably we will have 2 specs, if we want to move fast

Who is standing up to lead/chair/lead the Hub discussion? ...there hasn't been strong representation from the Hubbites
Troy Ronda
20:23
But with two specs in this group, I assume that EDVs form the storage layer beneath Hubs :).
Justin Bingham
20:32
EDVs seem like something that could back different kinds of data hubs (e.g. like solid pods), so from that perspective it could be advantageous to have them separate so they can be utilized separately
