Flawed and working just the way the plantations were run. Prison is a warehouse for slaves, no rehabilitation to keep them from recidivating

Thanks to all the legislators who are using their position to go inside prisons. More of these visits are needed because they are unexpected and unannounced. DOCCS might actually start changing things for the better if visits like this continue to happen.

My husband worked in auburn in those shops for 10 years no raises and removed asbestos there for 2 years for .40 cents an hours... making the office furniture in every state office and license plates on every car registered in NY! it gave him a sense of community when I told him it makes me think of him every time I see a license plate wondering if he forged it. but he should have been making a real wage and not exploited for his able body for free labor.

Those DMV jobs on the outside come with retirement and benefits, union representation... but when people are released from Bedford they cannot be employed in those same positions out here.. and do not gain employment credits for that time
