Temporary Health Partner - Information Session - Shared screen with speaker view
Toni Hanson - Bel-Air Nursing and Rehab, Goffstown
Last we heard the Board of Nursing is not supporting this position. This puts the nurse at risk if the Board of Nursing does not recognize this temporary position. Do you know if there will be any movement from the Board of Nursing or do the nurses use them at their own risk?
The NH BON is not getting behind this initiative. I specifically asked if the nurse is putting her license at risk by delegating tasks to non licensed personnel, as their website states they do not support unlicensed staff completing licensed staff duties. The response was the links to the delegation tree and scope of practice. What do we tell our nurses who are putting their licensed on the line?
I guess the question is, does the emergency order from the Governor protect the licensure of our nurses?
CMS stated that they are not waiving the 4 month max limit, but the Governor stated until State of emergency is over. Which is correct?
The BON is stating it is not within their purview, yet the wording is that this person must be "supervised by nursing". This is concerning based on all we are taught as nurses related to delegation.
Will a seperate PFA class need to be conducted for these individuals or will feeding be included in these competencies?
Will these slides be available after the webinar? Thanks!
What rates of pay would an hourly THP for night shift expect?
Thanks for ALL your good work!
Can we get the approval you are talking about in writing from the BON?
I would like to see some kind of statement from the BON as well.
Yes, except the hospice staff are licensed, and the staff nurse isn't directly responsible supervising the staff.
We are just needing to look our nurses in the eye and assure them they will not lose their license for delegating a licensed task to a non licensed staff.
what are the requirements for an individual to become a THP such as age?
Where do we think we can recruit these persons from?
