Freedom to Vote Act Talking PointsThe Freedom to Vote Act reflects our shared values as Americans. No matter where we live or what our background, we want fair elections, where we all have the freedom to vote and make our voices heard on important issues such as providing affordable health care, creating good jobs, and ensuring quality education. The Freedom to Vote Act is the most significant voting rights and anti-corruption bill in generations. It would protect the freedom to vote equally for all Americans, stop partisan gerrymandering, and limit the influence of dark money so that billionaires can’t buy elections.

26:40
The Freedom to Vote Act is popular. 7 in 10 Americans across the political spectrum overwhelmingly support the Freedom to Vote Act, including Americans living in rural, urban, and suburban communities.John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act Talking PointsThe John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act would restore and strengthen our freedom to vote by making sure that any changes to voting rules that could discriminate against voters based on our race or background are federally reviewed, so we all have an equal say in our future and our rights are protected.

39:28
Letter sent!

39:31
I'm afraid to say this because it will sound negative. But this question is genuine. All of my Reps support voting rights - I don't even wonder about this. The Senators/Reps that don't are: 1) Republicans and 2) Manchin and Sinema. I can't imagine any of them changing. And I definitely don't understand how writing a letter to an editor in my very-blue area, will have any effect on the true obstructors, who don't appear to be open to influence, since their primary GOALS appear to be obstruction. It's not at all clear to me how LTEs (or contacting Biden or any of my Reps) will get around this major issue of obstructionism.

40:08
@Ken - click the link in the chat and it should open the page in your browser

40:17

41:45
People can also use this template to send out emails to friends asking them to call their senators and the White House.

41:59
What action should we ask them to do?

42:04
Good! Almost done

42:34
Deborah --- it is often of value to thank our supporting reps for their support --- and we have been told that it helps for them to that xx number of my constituents are supportive when there is debate on the floor

42:58
For the LTE should we put in who to call - like the President?

43:07
Deborah -- it's also helpful for supportive reps/senators to keep hearing from us so they make voting rights and these bills a priority

43:08
@DEborah, both of our Senators have good relationships with folks on the other side of the aisle, telling them "I am getting X calls a day about the voting rights act" also reach out to any friends you have in red states and walk them through making these calls

43:14
Any comment on mentioning our senators by name?

43:29
