Q - have you uncovered any of the “why’s” behind these stats and conditions?
Pamela A Smith
01:17:14
thanks!
Kara Gormley Meador
01:23:30
Thanks for the great question Madeleine! Dr. Merrell dug into the “whys” associated with the stat involving SC’s Eviction Rates. Our presenters will dig into additional “whys” as the presentation moves forward. Looking forward to working with our partners to act on these issues. Thank you so much for being here!

So many of us have been focused on the conditions - ie homeless, hungry, poor health - and are just now learning how to uncover and understand the systemic conditions that cause these conditions. I hope this report will help us learn how to tell the stories of inequities and white privilege to debunk the “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality.

Because this study is so vast and so in-depth, we haven’t limited the findings to a single page, but we do have a brief located on our website here: https://issuu.com/socsc/docs/soc_report2020 . We will also share the brief and a link to the presentation in an email to all who registered following the presentation.
