Thank you Phil Carpenter and Dr. Fairbanks for anti-smoking ballot initiatives!
I appreciate your comments, Will! Thank you for your continued honesty.
Thanks for all the great questions you all are asking in the chat! Keep them coming and we’ll get to as many questions as we can during this forum.
Thanks to Philip Carpenter for sharing this resource about air quality: go to Azsmokefreeliving.org to view the Arizona State of the Air 2020 Report
David Gowan works for a fireworks manufacturing company; he also lobbied for his company and now he's in the state legislature. You can thank him for the fireworks issues and the pre-emption statute happened just in time for him to ram that through.

Thx to David Swindell for sharing this: The Center for Urban Innovation at ASU released a report a couple of years ago aimed at local government official (not just in AZ) with strategies on how to respond to preemption: https://urbaninnovation.asu.edu/content/navigating-waters-between-local-autonomy-and-state-preemption

I'll volunteer to collect signatures for that
What is one thing each of us could do to have the most impact, to fix this?
Serena/All: The Arizona MultiHousing Association and the Arizona Housing Coalition are working together again in the 2021 Legislative Session on a new State Tax Credit for Affordable Housing. This Bill will create significant additional resources for affordable housing in Arizona. Our groups have worked together on this Bill for the last 3 years. This Bill was on track to be approved in the 2020 Legislature before all Bills were stopped due to COVID-19. We also have worked together to support re-storing the State Housig Trust Fund, another key resource for affordable housing in Arizona, as mentioned by Councilwoman Kuby. Reid Butler, Chair, AMA
Will, would you also recommend getting involved in your Legislative District?
This is Katelyn with TigerMountain Foundation — www.tigermountainfoundation.org for volunteer opportunities
We take vacant lots in south phonix and turn them into urban gardens and teach the youth of the community how to prep, plant, and harvest and prepare healthy meals
Thank you ALL for your time and sharing this information with us.
Very informative. Thank you.
Thank you all!! :)
