Hello from Treaty 4 territory! This land holds sacred meaning for our family, the traditional territory of my husband’s Cree people, and the farm where I grew up. As we walk, play, pray, and live on Treaty 4 territory we are mindful of all our treaty relatives here. May we do the deep work of relationship, truth, and reconciliation.

Question for Catherine: How do you know when a poem is a play and not a short story?
Troni Grande, CNF, Treaty 4
01:56:11
Thank you, Jordan for being such a gentle and eloquent guide at this difficult moment, as we come to grips with the fissures and rushing currents and yes the smell of roses. May we remember, learn the lessons, honour and respect

Question for Jordan: was that last piece you read a found poem? If so, how do you decide what passages to pull forward and ones to leave?
Linda Crosfield
01:57:54
So good to hear you read that last passage, Jordan. It’s truly beautiful. Your book is so good, and as you said, so very timely. Thank you.
Carla Harris -Playwright - she/they
02:04:16
OOH great question Micheline, I am struggling with what to take and leave in my concrete & found poetry works.
Micheline Maylor
02:11:49
Piece - not poem. Bad typing sorry.

02:31:35
Songs are necessarily more lyrical. They play out as poetry—as poems set to music.
Mary Rykov
02:32:24
Tariq, I resonate with your account of playing with the length and rhythm of your prose sentences.
Carla Harris -Playwright - she/they
02:33:26
One interesting thing, I find it really freeing to perform poems with musicians who improvise for me. It is exciting to tune in to what they offer and let us both adapt as my words progress. Some of my poems have really grown after performing with improvising musicians
Tariq Hussain
02:35:16
Thanks, Mary! Yeah, it’s a meticulous process.
