All victory is temporary!

I always cringe when I hear “just moms.”. not

29:27
to criticize Dawn at all. just that moms have been more powerful than any other entities in environmental fights!

Hello everyone, Ginger here from Minnesota. This is my first time joining your meeting, and I'm having computer issues. I hope to have this fixed before the next meeting. I would love to also say hello to you Lois, it's been a long time.

Welcome Ginger!!

There is no substitution for grassroots organizing... Face to face meetings to educate and organize people. Documenting facts, pressuring officials, getting good media coverage, etc. How do we do this during a panbemic?

42:20
er pandemic

43:18
In what ways do you think that your privilege, or lack thereof, has affected your abilities to be a successful activist?

46:39
Did you use social media successfully? If so, how?

48:43
Could you talk about the reality on the ground which is known by your group and informed citizens verses the spin that is fed to the general public and how to counter that strategically?

50:48
What were the specifics of your win and who is paying the costs of the clean-up?

52:34
Privilege also goes deeper in terms of free time to advocate, funds to travel to DC. Having the option to work from home vs service workers, etc. Basic needs for survival always win over taking half a day to lobby, attend meetings, etc.

53:20
How can we as a society get control of these situations and hold the powers that be responsible?

54:22
what about fundraising? what was most effective?

54:49
where will the waste go?

56:04
what other demands are you making on government

I admire your group from afar here in Colorado and the success you’ve had. We have shared an enemy: Cotter Corporation. They are in the process of pulling out of this state, after many years of battles. I would say they have been one of the most difficult opponents through the years to fight, because of their excessive secrecy, their legal tactics, and the fact that they are privately held by GA. I feel they are just not cut from the same cloth as other corporate polluters. I’m wondering if they are showing signs of pulling out from your arena, and what tactics have you used through the years that have been successful against them? Or perhaps unsuccessful tactics, too.

We’re all Sisters!
