Pamela Monahan
01:50:54
Deb - is there a local radio station in your area? perhaps more publicity
Annie Wallack
01:51:40
or a local facebook page!
Martha McDonald
01:52:08
How much do you all charge for books?
Charmaine Glew
01:52:24
When and how do you collect and sort books?
Kelley Rodino
01:52:37
If there is a Berlin Community Facebook Page - that might be a good spot to advertise - we’ve had very good luck with that for our Grab Bag online sales
Charmaine Glew
01:53:22
Do you have enough volunteers to sort and are they concerned about covid?
Kelley Rodino
01:54:13
How are you managing donations? Are you taking donations at this point?
Lisa Berman
01:57:30
When you receive donations, what are your quarantine rules? Do they have to quarantine so many days? etc. Rules for handling the books, gloves? sanitizer? Spreading out on a table?
Ashwinee Sadanand
01:58:00
The New Britain Friends are not accepting donations at this point.
Joseph Genua
01:58:59
any comments / thoughts on planning for 2021 book sales?
Dick Lowenstein
02:04:26
Are there any other ways of selling books that you are using? Considering?
Linda Chapron
02:04:39
Farmington accepts donations daily and are put into quarantine 5 days in same area where library books are quarantined. Our Book Nook has been converted to table sales (books face up) with payment in locked cash box on the honor system which has been very successful. We have allowed dealers to make appointments to shop our shelves.
Patricia Smith
02:05:10
how are leftover books from a sale handled? reboxed? tossed? given to Discover?
Linda Chapron
02:07:47
Our leftovers that are not ear marked for charities, are carted away by Discover along with library deaccessioned books at least once per month.
Joseph Genua
02:08:29
we do that as well - local online
Toni Earnshaw
02:09:05
what email list do you use, Jocelyn?
Lisa Burkarth
02:09:31
What is Discover?
Toni Earnshaw
02:09:41
thanks
Elizabeth Orsini
02:10:05
Woodbridge Friends sell on Amazon.
Pamela Monahan
02:10:07
Prospect is not accepting donations. Nevertheless, people were dropping off books. The prison system took them.
Kelley Rodino
02:11:43
In Glastonbury we are selling book grab bags online for $5 a piece - people order a particular category of books, volunteers assemble a bag of books (4-7 books), and the grab bags are left on the hold shelves in the library for patrons to pick up. We email people when their bags are ready to pick up. We’ve had very good response.
Kelley Rodino
02:12:39
Glastonbury is not taking donations. We are working from the books we had stored when we closed in March that we would have sold at our big sale in May.
Patricia Donnelly
02:12:42
We had tow sales this year. the first was at our usual prices. the second was fill a bag-$5.00. surprisingly the first did as well as last year. the second earned twice that amount.
