Curious to know how different stakeholders were included in water governance during those early days. e.g. farmers, industry, hydro, urban water utilities. How were decisions about water allocation made?
hi Nekeisha SOS (Stepping Off the Sidwalk) campaign has a petition in place to rezone waterfront property as green/parkland - would it be acceptable to share this with panelists and attendees?
Thanks Rob for this insightful primer!
good background thanks Tob
@Trudi - Feel free to share the link.
Good overview of history by Rob. There is also important background in the Conservation Commission of Canada which functioned from around 1909 to 1921.
Thanks for sharing this nugget Steve.
Hi all, a campaign to rezone waterfront land in downtown Toronto's Quuens Quay east has been launched - please consider signing and leaving a comment: www.change.org/steppingoffthesidewalk
(This is part of the waterfront area Google/Sidewalk Labs had intended to develop. It's the home to Canada geese, ducks, cormorants, foxes & rabbits)

Thanks for your presentation, Chris!

Super review of current situation, Bonnie. I am in a one-percent group in this Zoom session - landowner. In our local area over the last couple of years I perceive aggressive deforestation and aggressive drainage. If feel that the CA is the most important agency providing a buffer against loss of local environmental values.

Thanks, Bonnie. Yes, strategic partnerships and innovation solutions are key.
Please submit your questions for the panel to the Q&A...thank you.
Great presentations everyone and thanks Deb for being such a good chair this morning!
Thanks for your feedback, Tom!
Thank-you to all pannelits - I was struck by Rob’s discussion of the outcome of ‘Guelph Conference’ during WWII and a key outcome was a paper on Post War Conservation. We find ourselves in the same situation now, looking towards conservation as a recovery tool during this pandemic. It is interesting this is not the first time this approach has been advocated for locally in Ontario.
How can reforestation be achieved in the GTA in areas of overdevelopment and disappearing green infrastructure?
Please submit your questions for the panel to the Q&A...thank you.
