6 million unexpected bucks should be able to make a HUGE difference in areas.

I think that we are in our "Noah's flood". Instead of using it to create a brand new world people are fighting to "get back to normal" and are stuck living in the past rather than envisioning the new creation that this pandemic allows us to make.

There are state bills proposed right now that speak to paid family leave. And, that should be federal. But states often have to pick up the slack.

But those wealthy are "so smart and hard workers". That's how they made that money. Not off the backs of the workers. :p

I just found this, about who pays what taxes:
Jess (she her)
46:40
Low- and middle-income Kentuckians pay about 9-10% of their income to state and local taxes, while the state’s wealthiest 1% pay about 6% of their income to state and local taxes.
Meredith (she/her)
47:05
^^that ain’t right!
Jess (she her)

Thanks for lifting that up.

Mike Wilson’s response to an email I sent to him about that bill: “It passed the Senate and is now on to the House.” Oh, thanks Mike. Enlightening.

Call the Legislative Message Line at 1-800-372-7181. (1-866-840-2835 for Spanish, and Kentuckians with hearing loss can use Kentucky Relay by dialing 7-1-1.) Leave a message for your Representative and Senator:“Any historical horse racing legislation must increase the outrageously low tax rate and raise $100 million for the budget. Please oppose SB 120 because it won’t raise the revenue Kentucky deserves.”

Will you call the legislative message line at 800-372-7181 and leave a message for your representative? Tell them: any Historical Horse Racing legislation must increase taxes and raise $100 million for our budget, please vote no on SB120.
