No. Unfortunately funding cannot be used for capital improvement projects

As a board member for a local food bank… I was wondering if they are eligible for this grant funding.

No, I am afraid food banks would not be eligible

It is hard to compile an exhaustive list of everything that is and is not allowed. If you have a specific idea it would be best to reach out to James or myself.

General operating funds would be the best choice if you need unrestricting NON-PROGRAMMING funding.

(Salaries, benefits, utilities, insurance, rent, etc.)

Wifi benches would not be an eligible expense. That is capital improvement

Advertising and promotion would be allowed under General and Program support.

Capital improvement funding is available through community foundations, MCACA (although the deadline for this year has already passed (June 1))

Due to the ongoing uncertainty, we have been working with a 6-month budget rather than a 12-month. Is this okay or would we need to project the full fiscal year in order to apply?

If we budget the funds from the grant toward eligible costs, could we divert current operating budget funds toward other projects?

I would project the 12 month budget

You can just estimate. It give the committee a bigger picture.

Remember, application budgets are an estimate. We understand there will be modifications. We just ask that you stay in touch with us about major changes

Do we need to show a certain level/percentage of revenue loss to be eligible?

Given the time frame of the grant, and budget seasons, is it ok for the budget to be for the 2021 fiscal year? Our agency doesn't budget for the coming year until October... so we wouldn't have something for 2022 until after the grant submission period.

I would put that in the grant narrative.
