Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us today.

48:22
Evan, could you put that training option in the chat please

48:27
what was that HR download?

48:39
Can some of the resources you all have shared be included in the follow up email please? Thanks

50:21
I would appreciate it if Anastasia could share the link for the Trauma Resource for Community that she referenced. Thanks!

50:47
With these micro courses, do you manage to get milestones in? Here we are concerned with having learners for longer. Is that a concern with you Evan? How do you handle it?

52:04
(1) A Gender Knowledge consultant. (2) HR Downloads, which is a staff training support program that uses primarily online videos (but it does cost some money). (3) A Youtube video, just search “What is Gender?” And find one that works (any ignore anything by Jordan Peterson or Joe Rogan, lol). And then defiantly debrief as a staff. 🙂

This is a great resource for 2SLGBTQIA+ training that is super accessible. There is a facilitator guide and participant package, for anyone wanting to incorporate these learning activities into their services. https://thesafezoneproject.com/resources/

54:23
@Jennifer. Yep, for all of out micro learning we still get milestones. We use the ones about managing learning milestone (which we complete by having a simple verbal conversation about their tech literacy goals) and the basic tech ones (in Ontario, it’s the “log-in to a website” milestone.)

54:54
@Travis: thanks! Good resource for sure.

55:58
@Evan thanks!

56:38
I might shoot you an email with follow up questions on this : )

59:36
Looking forward to it!

These connections build so much trust and have the potential to generate meaningful literacy activity between agencies and between clients to support each other.

01:01:22
We don't have the guide I was referring to on the website right now but I will share the pdf copy which Julia can email everyone

01:01:33
Can the presenters emails come up again

01:02:15
Thank you Anastasia!

01:03:52
Inter-sector connections are so important. They are referral partners in disguise.

01:04:10
Ya, very true Wendy

01:04:56
Love the capacity building you are describing Travis.

01:05:40
Any suggestions on how to start creating a partnership with Indigenous groups? Our rural community has 3 different communities and not much work has been done to bridge relationships with any of them.

01:05:45
I agree Wendy. We also give other service providers the gift of having a literacy lens in their work.

01:07:34
Absolutely Nancy, and Calgary Learns does such a great job at that!

01:07:38
@Sandy: Maybe a community wide-literacy day (food, kids games, prizes, etc.)? That way you can situate yourself as place/help/service for everyone.

01:08:33
Thank you for that suggestion, Evan.

01:09:14
We have a partnership with Penticton Indian Band if you want to connect, mindyr@neilsquire.ca

01:10:39
Thank you, Mindy! I will connect with you:)

01:11:10
thanks so much : )

01:11:15
Wonderful discussion. Thank you, everyone!

01:11:19
