How do we know whether we’ve completed each application (and did so properly).
For the visual people, it would be nice to see what he is describing!
If you did not receive the email regarding EANS Phase II, please private message your email to me and I will make sure you receive a copy.
What happens if a line item is not approved? Is it a one shot attempt or are schools eligible to amend?
@ Ron J: If you application is approved, you know you did it correctly. If we have questions, we will contact you during our review of your application.
@ Ron J: You will be able to amend your application if a line item is not approved.
To be able to use funds, do we have to have spent the money already and be reimbursed or can we use the funds to purchase items ?
The options are to request reimbursement for expenditures already spent, request reimbursement for future expenditures or the SEA would directly pay for goods or services.
thank you :)
can you speak to what kind of expenses can be submitted for initiating and support services or assistance for learning loss.
we have a parent organization/name. do we need to have a separate state vendor ID and DUNS no?

I am at a school with three campuses. I submitted phase one information for the entire school, not by campus. Was that a mistake?
How long does it take to obtain a Duns #? thanks
If you still need the "Phase II" email, please include your email in a direct message to me.
Phase 2 email needed. Thanks
It appears title of all eligible reimbursements will be held by the State. Can you confirm?
Would there be reimbursement for long-term substitutes needed since September 2020 if used to split classes because of social distancing?
Mary Jo Johnson
Kevin, we will have to work on this with you. I know that Julie Chace is working with you regarding equitable services for this coming year.

I am in the iGrants system right now and not finding FP 121 in the Package Selector. Am I missing something obvious?
Would portable classrooms to create physical distancing be allowable?
How do we connect or contract with SEA?
Can you clarify the use of this money to upgrade air filtration systems such as HVAC and/or portable air filter devices?
If I understand the FAQ on EANS funds can not be requested to offset any salaries of individuals on our current or future payroll, even if they were hired to help mitigate learning loss. Is that correct? That would mean any staffing needed to mitigate learning loss would need to be provided by independent contractors or employees of our local school district. Correct?
Can you speak to how the technology reimbursements will be handled? Specifically, if computers are reimbursed, will they become the property of the state?
With questions about acceptable use of funds still outstanding. Would a change in the due date to a later date be prudent.
Yes, please clarify the use of money to improve the air system.
Same question as Asia Adam - when it says in page 3 of the iGrant application, "SEA to provide or contract for services," how do we do this and how do we know how much to budget?
Regarding support to prevent learning loss- many schools added staffing/reallocated staffing to bring students back for in person learning to address/prevent more learning loss. It sounds like you don't have an answer on this- but this would be a huge help in terms of supporting expenses incurred.
In other words…I don’t want to move forward with the application until these questions are answered because I might choose to do something different depending on the answers to these questions.

We have three campuses - are we completing three different applications?
We got our DUNS a little over a week later.
What are some examples of “Reasonable Transportation Costs”?
For questions regarding Private School Participation in Federal Programs, please contact me directly at email@example.com
DUNS has a special site for govt funds and it takes just 24 hours
It sounds like page2 & 3 of the iGrant (“Activity & Budget Plan” + three “tables”) has some ability to be modified later… Can you clarify how solid we need to be with our $$’s at the April 30th deadline and how much flexibility remains in the grant lifetime?
For a quick DUNS number go to: www.dnb.com/govtduns
Is OSPI going to pick up physical assets like laptops or air filtration equipment be physical picked up in 2023?

Under the budget section, is that where we track what we are spending this money? If so when is that to be submitted?
How does the second round of PPP effect eligibility for EANS ?
That would be wonderful!
Regarding educational technology expenses specifically connectivity, would this include upgrading the campus wifi installations in each room, library, gym (for example cabling)?
Can you utilize the EANS funds for janitorial at all for deep cleaning?
Private School Participation in Federal Programs application is due to OSPI April 15. For applications submitted through the State Board of Education, please see their website or contact them directly. (https://www.sbe.wa.gov/our-work/private-schools). EANS FP 121 is due April 30.
Someone asked about portable classrooms, but you mentioned that rented space (for the 2020/2021 school year and possibly longer) is allowed? Just wanted to validate my understanding.
We have tables in grades 7-8. We need desks to accommodate for social distancing. Would purchasing desks be acceptable?
Regarding technology- would upgrading the school's bandwidth to support hybrid learning be allowable (reimbursement of increased cost to service providers).
Tagging on to the portable....what about creating an outside classroom space? Would that be allowed? Tables, covering, prepping ground cover?
“Federal $’s to secure services” — Can we lean on Title 1 tutor structures in this regard?
If making repairs to the roof is required in order to upgrade ventilation, is that an allowable expenditure?
Adding to Stephanie’s question…Tents for outside classes (social distancing), dining etc…
Regarding EANS funds can be used for: (L) initiating and maintaining education and support services..to address learning loss. Can schools be reimbursed for tutors for students who experienced learning loss during the months we were required to be closed?
Can you clarify? Can we be reimbursed for air purifiers?
What about paying for a third party to address learning loss related to academic subjects for students? Is this allowable?

Could a different agency such as FACTS provide the contract for services?
Would it best to provide a budget with expenses to be reimbursed rather than trying to contract with SEA? We need to purchase iPads for our students and would like to know the best route for approval.
Looking to next school, we will need to purchase more desks and other items in order to follow health and safety protocol. As I understand everything, there is no guarantee that our purchases will be reimbursed/allowed, even if it seems to fit the federal stipulations. Am I understanding this correctly?
I did not have to "improve" a ventilation system, but I had to add an HVAC system to a classroom that previously only had windows for ventilation. Can I be reimubursed for the new HVAC system?
RE: Susan…and will OSPI be picking up the HVAC system after funding timeline is completed?
If we used the money for iPads, would we have to return those?
they are about 750 each if not less
If we were reimbursed for something already purchased, would those items need to be returned?
I agree Laird
Should there be 2 different budgets? 1. for 20-21 and 2. 21-22?
If we have to purchase or have purchased curriculum for online learning - would this qualify? The curriculum would be obsolete by 2023

TJ, thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Yes, thank you!
Thank you all for your thoughtful consideration of how to best serve our students.
Thank you OSPI team!
Thank you so much TJ and team!!!! You guys are awesome.
Thanks so much for all the work you have put into this process and making the funds available to private schools.
We’ll get there together!
Thank you for this information!
Thank you! Looking forward to the updates and getting together again soon.
Thanks TJ, Julie and team!
Thank you, TJ, for considering extending the deadline.
In the examples, it says "SEA will contract services." What does SEA stand for?
