Laura Jean
01:43:16
Laura Jean 25th & Harriet, homeowner here for 17 years, i=I want WA to include more than housing in monthly community meetings. Housing is an important issue but there are many more. By not having a Community Issues Meetings there are fewer opportunities for community members to engage, likewise for the Businesses.
BD Daniel Perez (He/Him/El)
01:43:25
If you have a chance to download the most recent version of zoom, I encourage you to do so. We will have more polls in the future, I believe

That was also my final secretary's report as my board term comes to an end this year (though I still plan to be involved!). I am so grateful to everyone who helped in ways big and small to make the Whittier Alliance a more just and inclusive organization in the three years that I have been lucky enough to be on the board. I am so excited about the candidates that are running this year, I know you'll all do amazing work in our neighborhood. <3 Thank you to my neighbors for electing me three years ago.

How will paper ballets be handled in the office? That was a concern for the Special meeting when staff didn’t know where to find ballots, or how to handle them once they were completed or a secure place to put them.

@Laura Jean, are you concerned about some form of voter fraud at the Neighborhood Organization level? There’s a 3rd party involved. I’m curious - when all of the voting information has been posted both now and at the special meeting - what it is you’re worried about?

Hi, Tony!
Laura Jean
02:09:10
Nicole, I said nothing about voter fraud but to ensure trust and secure voting clear procedures are an important piece of community trust in the process.
Nico/le ((she/her))
02:12:07
@Laura Jean, I feel like the voting procedures are incredibly transparent? Not only were they posted in multiple minutes, on the webpage for this meeting, and then read outlaid to us by a 3rd party who is facilitating the process… I just don’t understand what you’re worried about. The process is there.
Nico/le ((she/her))

Love all these creative solutions for rehabbing and transitioning homes to more dense housing that also maintains our sense of belonging to time and place, and makes responsible use of irreplaceable old growth forest resources rather than sending them to landfill.
