Are we allowed to ask questions on the chat?
Yes. We will address most of them at the end of the presentation.
Do the bungalow classrooms have centralized air? Will these filters be effective in the bungalows?
Yes and yes. MERV 13 filters have been installed in every room.
Wonderful, thank you.
I do not believe my son's classroom has a central AC, its one of the outside bungalows. How will this work?
Ignore me...I saw answer
will ALL the kids be in school at the same time? Or will there be alternate days?
One of my parents who is unable to attend tonight wants to know which age/grade level students will be required to wear masks.
All students are required. I've heard there may be medical exemptions, but we do not have those details yet.
I think the efforts to ensure cleanliness and disinfection are reassuring. However, with all these chemicals that will be used to sanitize the classrooms and spaces, should parents be concerned about the chemicals' toxic effects? Can you share any information regarding the safety of the chemical cleaning materials?
Agreed. I also wonder why there is still so much focus on disinfecting surfaces when the risk of surface transmission of COVID seems to be negligible. It doesn’t seem worth the risk of kids and teachers breathing all of these cleaning fumes.
My concern is who will monitor and ensure that fans for each room are actually working? How often will this be checked?
As an LAUSD educator, and there are many at 3rd Street, I'm curious if there is some sort of beyond the bell option available for teacher children.
what is the protocol for if a student tests positive for COVID on the weekly testing?
Justice in Aging
Are we allowed to select a morning or an afternoon schedule?
Is it possible that our teacher could change when we go into the hybrid option?
@Justice in aging - I did my survey today, and yes you can choose morning or afternoon
I have a 1st grader. I am concerned about 3 hours of instruction without recess. Is it safe to assume that our son will be more or less confined to the classroom, mostly behind a desk for all of the time he's in school?
Sandra - I think it makes a lot of sense for parents to work together to try and make the class split in half. People who are flexible are probably willing to choose the option that keeps the class together and with their teacher.
Given the variables and unknowns, what is the timeline when decisions will be made about the format and when classes will open?

Do teachers have the option to teach virtually or in person? Or are they required to teach in person once school is back in session?
Do we know if the windows in the classrooms are able to open for ventilation?
Sounds rather daunting and overwhelming .. is there any possibility to simplify this whole process of LAUSD like other Californian counties or States? If so, by when? 2022 school year?
Is there a limit on the total number of people? Will there be a limit on teaching aides?
I saw that kids will get weekly COVID tests. What's the protocol if a student tests positive?
Is there only one 20 min recess for 3 hours of teaching?
What happens with tech and music etc
Tried calling Third Street last week, and it was going to a voice mail system. If we have questions, will the office be available to answer them?
Justice in Aging
Will Third Street have onsite testing?
Will the kids be able to play more freely during recess outdoors?
Yes, can they play together during recess?
Thank you so much for your time Mr. Kim
