You can find an array of resources on Consumer Information Files on the ILRU website at https://www.ilru.org/resources-consumer-information-files, including a sample Independent Living Plan from Tri-County Independent Living Center and Wyoming Independent Living Rehabilitation
Leanne Murrillo
59:43
one way I work with youth and parents are asking the consumer what are three things the parent would like the child to work on and what are three things the youth want to work on. bring these answers to the meeting to develop a plan

So, It's better to have one than not to have one? An ILP that is. It's all being done with the, with out me actually checking that box.
Cathy Taylor
01:16:03
do you folks use WILD
Dominique Dunford-Lack
01:17:10
If a consumer decides to waive an ILP (as opposed to signing one) what if anything does that change in terms of how service is provided. Generally speaking whether or not an ILP is accepted or waived we track goals set deadlines, etc.
Sharon Finney
01:18:13
Another resource on the ILRU website is Consumer Information Files, Independent Living Plans, and Service Coordination for CILs Manual at https://www.ilru.org/consumer-information-files-independent-living-plans-and-service-coordination-for-cils
Cathy Taylor
01:18:54
Do you folks use motivational interviewing with your consumers.
Sharon Finney
01:20:29
Another training that addresses the Consumer Information File is the RapidCourses online tutorial at https://www.ilru.org/training/consumer-service-records-series
Shana Ayscue

The goal is what you set and the objective is how you will reach the goal.
Shannon Tarkowski
01:20:52
what kind of language do you use for your goals? could you speak to us what would be written? Is it formal or more informal?
Stevie Cruse
01:21:02
If you set goals without an ILP how is the recorded differently in the PPR?
Shana Ayscue
01:22:32
Should each goal be listed separately, as in one goal per page?
serena cantway
01:25:22
I am a Housing Coordinator at FREED ILC. Some of my goals are up to a year because of the housing market and access.
Paula McElwee
01:27:07
Some of you are asking about specific time lines on how long to keep a file open, when to close, how long to keep the file, etc. This is decided in your own policies and procedures. There is not a federal requirement. Your state may have requirements, or otherwise you set the requirements in your own policies and procedures.
Janine Allen
01:33:32
Does it ever happen to you that a consumer wants to set a goal that is unrealistic and/or outside of the scope of your CIL's services? If so, how do you handle that?
Heidi Frye
01:34:42
Can you tell me wording that you use with the consumer when asking about creating a goal?
CG Matovina
