how would you recommend being sure kids are prepared ahead of time to use something like Kahoot? Not all the parents are as comfortable/knowledgable accessing how to use the technology - we ran into this with older kids classes during RS

still thinking but so far: honey sticks, a pomegranate, make your own apple plate kit, wax to make candles to light, RH matches, a RH seder tailored to our synagogue’s customs. Any other ideas?
Orly Jacobs
01:23:04
we are doing a family art project before R.H. where the families will be glass painting or use decoupage to make an apple plate. There will be a short ed piece and all the families will have the opportunity to work together making this family art piece
Sherrie Klein ed-director@bethchaim.net
01:23:18
Teri - just came from a JEDLAB zoom on RH Boxes. Many great ideas. The link will be posted there.
Orly Jacobs
01:23:47
Sherrie - thanks I will check that for some ideas as well
Ana Turkienicz
01:24:08
I made a Place Mat for Rosh Hashanah - each person gets one and we go around and make the blessings for the different symbols - we can improve it and incorporate additional creative symbols: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14FtOrjG_LQQ9kbyEHuI2vo3eEZr6qP-j/view?usp=sharing

01:25:58
I was just thinking that I could lead it with the families, just having my copy of the book on the screen share as we go through it. I would send them a list ahead of time with what foods & objects they may want to have to be interactive together.
Babette Cohn
01:26:12
I just bought it from Apple Books

We have done the seder at our home before dinner for years. We just do the blessings part, so it is short (10-15min?) and then we eat. Everyone loves it. Plus, the foods lend themselves to be side dishes for the meal, so we just have to add a main dish and we are good.
Teri Hochberg
01:29:42
Good thinking as I want to be cognizant that the families not think it would be to hard to incorporate!
Debbie Lempert Cincinnati, Ohio
01:30:30
How could families do the seder on their own without a copy of the book?
Rahel Musleah
01:31:10
The seder does not have to be longer than 15-20 min. if you want to use all the stories and activities you can do them in advance so when families actually do the seder they will have more ownership.
Sheldon Levin
01:31:41
The website will have another SEDER (from Shustermans) that can be shared free with all families.
Julie Blair
01:32:23
Can you share the link please
Rahel Musleah
01:32:33
The seder blessings should be available online. You can get brochures in israel that have them printed. The stories and activities and additional info are what I added. there are also recipes.
Babette Cohn
01:32:39
if there are not teen programs on the day of the holidays how are you thinking to keep that time as special in some way for them? Using the month of Elul is great but not the same as what makes the holiday time special
Rahel Musleah
01:34:09
If you want to do a one-time zoom for families with slides from the book I think it would be okay.
