You may have to log out & maybe back in. Check the volume controls as well on the device.
Stacey Wittscheck
22:28
Why is in-person learning even being considered right now? Wayne & Oakland counties have an infection rate 37% higher than this week 1 month ago.
iPhone
22:41
exactly
Lindsay
22:56
Stacey- if you don't want in person learning then choose option 2- virtual learning
Stacey Wittscheck
23:33
Option #2 is about more than just in-person learning. The learning style in Option #2 is not supportive of my children's learning needs.
Galaxy S10
25:10
I agree with you Lindsay...
jan walker
30:22
Will every personnel be tested before the kids will be let back in the doors?
Stacey Wittscheck
31:22
Why are you offering different options to what we agreed to originally? The agreement was 2 days in-person & 3 days online? Why the sudden surge of different options?
Melissa Carruth - Principal
31:36
Our personnel take a symptom survey every day to ensure that their symptoms are monitored and that they are safe to be in the building.
Stacey Wittscheck
32:37
How does that affect the options Mrs. Carruth?
Melissa Carruth - Principal
33:45
There is no sudden surge. We just want to have our parent’s voices heard as we hear and analyze other hybrid models to ensure that we provide the best option for our families.
CV Bryan DeCaire - Principal
34:30
The reply was directed towards an earlier question. No plans have been finalized yet & we are surveying the best options for our learning communities based upon the information that we receive.
molly
34:55
what about kids with adhd. I want my child to be in school 5 days. but how are you going to get my son not to move around
molly
35:29
my children have been in daycare for months now and have been fine. this is crazy. let the kids go back to school!
john nelson
35:54
no latch key=no school!
Beth Hughes
35:56
its simple if you dony
Stacey Wittscheck
36:09
Ok. I understand, and respect that. I just don't understand why these options haven't been mentioned until now? The original Option #1 agreement was 2 days in & 3 days online. Why all the new options now? Why weren't these discussed & offered before?
Lindsay
37:07
The original option said either hybrid OR full week
Mallary Louiselle
37:44
I’m wondering the same thing, Stacey. I’m hoping they don’t make us stick with waiting until January to return if we chose option 2.
david harrington
37:48
no camera sorry
Galaxy S10
38:08
how would working parents be able to support on those 3 days with no teacher support?
Lindsay
38:18
Option 2 clearly stated it is virtual the entire semester while Option 1 would be either virtual or in person.
CV Bryan DeCaire - Principal
38:28
These are just options & they have evolved throughout the process & they have to be presented to gather information from our parents & families. No plan or option has been decided & we have to work together on what is best for our students.
iPhone
38:41
true
Beth Hughes
38:46
its pretty simple if you dont want your kids back you should have picked option 2 the rest of us want our kids back in school!
Stacey Wittscheck
39:04
No it didn't. Option #1 is the Hybrid Option. Option #2 is the Clarenceville Academy. Option #1 was online to start, hybrid to return to in-person until we worked our way to 5 full days.
danielle
39:05
if you do return to school will you still have the academy available or just the virtual part open due to staffing
Melissa Carruth - Principal
39:15
The purpose of today is to provide you information. So listen to the presentation so that when you are surveyed, you can select the option that works best for your family.
Stacey Wittscheck
40:31
Again, Option #2 isn't just about in-person & online. The teaching & learning style of Option #2 isn't for everyone.
iPhone
41:13
This is far too confusing. We have no way of truly separating children this young at school. It boils down to how much risk will teachers and students take. Are the teachers being given the option of staying home.
Lindsay
41:26
Can we vote for full five days and hybrid if we just want our child in school and don't care whether it's 2 or 5 days a week? Or are we only able to vote for one option?
Dionne Lenigan
42:18
That’s what the survey is for.
iPhone
43:14
Will the children presenting with symptoms being required to quarantine for 2 weeks?
MaryAnn Gould-Brent
43:14
Screening at home? I don't see a lot of people being honest with that.
Stacey Wittscheck
43:28
Good point MaryAnn
john nelson
43:33
we can not trust parents to make sure the kids are not sick kids need to be temp check before entering school
CV Bryan DeCaire - Principal
43:43
The survey is simply for our families to vote on what preference is best for their individual needs. It will be detailed & should be well thought out before submitting.
Lindsay
43:46
Stacey, I understand the virtual academy my not be the best fit for your child. But the parents that want their kids in school should have that choice just like the parents who want their child to remain virtual have that choice
Stacey Wittscheck
43:59
That's a great idea John!
iPhone
44:19
true @john
Mallary Louiselle
44:22
people send their kids to school with the flu every year. this will be no different.
Ray Roney
44:46
what about Electronic sanitizing measures such as ionizers? also how does one keep kids away from one another for their own safety?
Stacey Wittscheck
44:55
I agree Lindsay! There isn't a one-size fits all option, and whatever the decision everyone will not be happy
CV Bryan DeCaire - Principal
45:32
Please be sure to listen to the entire presentation as a number of the items being questioned are being discussed within the presentation.
Hope
46:48
What factors does the board look at in order to make a decision to open the schools
CV Bryan DeCaire - Principal
47:54
An abundance of information such as surveys, data, community discussions, etc..
Stacey Wittscheck
48:00
How will all this potential quarantine time affect truancy laws??? 10-14 days out of school is a lot... How will the student staff current?
Stacey Wittscheck
48:26
Sorry... How will the student stay current?
john nelson
48:37
rt on Stacey!
Lindsay
48:53
I'm assuming online learning while in quarantine

john nelson
49:33
the kids will have to back to online learning
iPad
50:01
Are you only looking at Oakland County cases, even though many students live in Wayne County?
iPhone

Hope
50:07
do all members of the board have to agree to open schools
Stacey Wittscheck
50:32
I know we're technically Oakland County, but where is the Wayne County numbers? Wayne County isn't fairing the same.
molly
50:50
the risk is not high. why do we we still wear mask if people are still going to live in fear
iPhone
50:58
I agree @stacey
Ray Roney
51:25
safe to say, this is a work in progress and will evolve
Beth Hughes

what day is the school board meeting
iPhone
52:41
I live with facts not fear. Mask are not enough. Most mask aren’t even N95. Kids touch everything and everyone.
iPhone
52:42
my child is learning just fine. I do understand some kids learn differently.
Stacey Wittscheck
52:43
They are indeed learning! Perhaps not as well, or as much, but learning is happening!!!
Anna D
52:49
@Hope, Thursday I believe
Hope
52:49
can we attend the board meeting
Melissa Carruth - Principal

Hope
53:10
Thank you
Melissa Carruth - Principal
53:23
The link for the Board Meeting is on the Clarenceville website. It is open to the public. These meetings are virtual.
Naamah Brown
53:32
Are the children required to be tested before returning back to school?
Lindsay
53:40
If either of the in person learning options are agreed upon what day would the kids be back in school?
Bryant
54:03
What would be the impetus for a hybrid model? If they are still in person and have that risk why not allow a full five days?
Melissa Carruth - Principal
54:25
Right now we are looking at just the elementary return, but secondary is preparing and planning for a return too.
MaryAnn Gould-Brent
54:37
I don't think you can say no kid is learning. If they are in engaged they are learning. My kids are learning, even the one with an IEP.
Nicole
54:42
don't younger kids touch more than older?
Galaxy S10
54:52
Stacey...from your comments, the virtual option sounds like what you really are looking for. it may not be the best option but honestly none of the options are perfect for everyone.
Nicole
55:07
my daughter has been learning great honestly. but does need social skills by going back at some point.
Computer
55:27
If we return 5 days face to face, would there be a cap on class size?
girlscouts
55:30
I agree @Nicole
Lindsay
55:41
Have you looked into how many cases other districts that have been in school have had?
molly
55:46
my child is learning nothing. and needs to be in school. this is crazy. you guys are not thinking about the kids. kids are not at risk. let them learn
Stacey Wittscheck
55:51
I know there's no one-sized fits all answer. But parents shouldn't have to choose between their children's health/safety and their education!!! Option #1 & Option #2 address both online/in-person and teaching and learning style! Option #2 isn't a good fit for every student. Like Mrs. Valentine said, Option #2 is for the self motivated, independent learner.
Rosie's Iphone
55:58
my son is not motivated being at home. he needs to go back
Ray Roney

Bruce Davidson
56:08
Considering the vast educational deficits the children now have, will the “specials” be eliminated to give math/reading/science more emphasis?
iPhone
56:08
Are teachers being given the choice? That’s a crucial point.
Gina Londo
56:10
I agree with Stacey. option 2 does not work for my kids either.
Enjoli Fournier
56:21
LPS has went back, is clarenceville following them atcall?
Deidra ODell
56:33
The children and staff are the main concern! This is why this is a very hard decision!
Jamie Saylor
57:05
Agreed Deidra!
iPhone
57:08
Molly your kids may learn differently and that’s fine. everyone can’t be pleased in this situation. some kids and families have Heath issues and are concerned. Everyone will agree and that’s ok.
MaryAnn Gould-Brent
57:14
If we chose #1 and we don't want to return yet, will there still be the virtual or just option #2? sorry if this was asked already.
Bruce Davidson
57:14
Will the school year now be extended, in an effort to make up vital lost weeks?
Lindsay
57:24
To everyone who does not want their kids in the school- choose option 2. You guys get your choice. Us parents who want our kids in school should get ours too!
iPhone
57:30
will not agree**
Galaxy S10
58:08
option #2 may not work for your child but what do you say to the parent who says remote learning isn't working for their child who opted option #1?
CV Bryan DeCaire - Principal

YES Lindsay!
Computer

If we return 5 days face to face, will the be a cap on class size?
Jackie Hart
58:45
do we have space and staff for reduced class sizes?
Deidra ODell
58:55
Some people chose Option #1 because the learning style fit our needs. Option #2 isn't ideal for everyone, so please stop acting like you know what our children need.
MaryAnn Gould-Brent
59:21
YES Deidra!!
Rosie's Iphone
59:21

YES! I'm with you Deidra
john nelson

Mallary Louiselle
59:56
can we just scrap what options everyone chose and redo this survey based on what we know now based off of being in the thick of things?
john nelson
01:00:02
just sending kids home is NOT going to work!
Sculver
01:00:02
I agree with Deidra!
Gina Londo
01:00:09
Are classrooms clean out so kids CAN BE 6 feet apart??
Beth Hughes
01:00:31
the virtual stay home the rest of us want our kids back !!
Melissa Carruth - Principal
01:00:35
Yes teachers are organizing their classrooms to allow for spacing
sara
01:00:35
Parents, you are being given a choice here. They just wants to know where we stand as parents.
Stacey Wittscheck
01:00:51
Are we really willing to risk the health and safety of our kids and our amazing C'Ville staff??? I can't imagine how the loss of a student or teacher will affect us... Why take that chance???
Naamah Brown

So much fire in this room. Can people be a little calmer?
Keegan
01:01:15
Please stop attacking parents for choosing option 1 but not ready for their kids to go back. Everyone has different reasons for choosing the options that they did. This is not what this meeting is for. It is about discussing our options and answering questions.
Lindsay
01:01:24
They cannot make everyone happy. But they are giving us the choice! In person or virtual. Neither are perfect but we have to make it work.
Gina Londo
01:01:39
Thank you Keegan!!
Anna D
01:01:44
@Dionne. I was going to say the same.
Bruce Davidson

01:02:25
how do some of the other remote-learning scenarios that have been around for awhile doing it? is there any improvement that can be made or adjustments to make the learning better for those kids who are remote?
Lindsay

Keegan, I agree but parents who want their kids in school should also be listened too and not be held back because of some parents who have changed their miends

Lindsay

Livonia is a school of choice, no stopping parents from going there.
Lindsay
01:03:59
What day would in person start if it's agreed upon?
Lindsay
01:04:33
It's school of choice but do a lottery and only allow a certain amount of children in and it's already full.
Bruce Davidson

Parents, please take a deep breath. We ALL have different needs for our children. One of isn't wrong for choosing an option. We all have a voice, and deserve to use it. Please stop attacking each other!!!! :)
