Please engage with us today and post your questions here in the chat. Together we can solve the challenges we face through unification.

23:45
sounds good, what does the fraternal order of police ,and police union say about this ? Brandy Majors inquires

25:55
Senate Bill 217 was originally supposed to be called the Elijah McClain policy accountability bill. It was drafted by Terrance Roberts and another person who brought it to law makers in 2019. It gained traction and was accepted by law makers only after George Floyd was murdered.

26:42
before your time here the dod was lazed on it's transparency, what tangible garrentee can u assure us that ur willing to do this for the people ?

27:10
DPD I want to say

27:57
question: One of the biggest issues I see in not the shooting itself, that the police force is quit to shoot because they have no hand to hand combat training so they shoot first because they just can't take down a criminal with there hands!! Does this bill include monthly training on taken people down!

28:29
What is the guarantee we have that officers will keep their camera on , I have witnessed numerous times officers turning their cameras off during sweeps and non-violent protests?

28:43
what about inside the city and county jails and youth detention center. use if force is never addressed .

29:08
Your questions are being noted. Thank you for engaging.

29:36
Aurora already passed an No Knock Ban from my understanding.

30:26
when was the last time a no knock warrent excuted in Denver or aurora?

31:53
If Aurora has performed a No Knock Raid in the past two years they are in violation of their own law. There's no guarantee they are not illegally entering homes without proper consent.

32:50
What the policy of shooting while running away?

32:56
facts Terrence. don't believe the hype

33:17
Does this piece of legislation include DOC officers, or persons identifying. As law enforcement to the community such as, bail bondsman, bounty hunters, private investigators with Clert certifications. Etc?

34:00
Is the deescalation policy protocol the same for both youth and adults?

34:07
what is the percentage of officers who gets charged with a crime in Aurora and Denver?

36:03
I am curious about how senate bill 217 addresses the officer penalties once misuse or abuse of force has been made. for instance, suspensions, tracking misuse of force, and how police pensions are impacted by civil lawsuit cases?

37:10
what about the underlining white supremacists in and on the force . how are you dealing and riding of these individuals. it's outa hand.

38:18
did u know that when I chased him?

38:40
This is not a training issue its a cultural issue what is being done to address the violent and racist culture of the police in Denver and Aurora?

39:52
is that on camera...sounds crazy to me . running and shoot urself after getting shot by the police. sounds suspect

40:45
did u know that when I chased him? Will you clarify your question please

41:28
Alcatel β- did u know that when I chased him?

41:33
Please clarify

42:49
did the police know he was a criminal when they the police chased him ? the one who allegedly shot himself?

44:31
Please feel free to call Chaplains International, Inc. has been reaching out to both Aurora and Denver Police Dept. I pray that we will be able to work more together in dealing with Crisis Response Team. I can be reached at 720-447-4867 or Majordptaylor@gmail.com.

45:09
why do you think this last week was so heavy for the police and these shootings?

45:11
Why does it appear that when a white person shoots it out with police they get arrested. A black person gets killed running away.

46:47
Thank you for all your questions. They are being relayed.

47:13
Your welcome Rashad and thanks

47:23
Racism had nothing to do with these shooting!

48:09
π₯π₯π₯π₯

48:27
We also need to address the violent culture of policing in America, not just in Colorado and in Denver and Aurora

49:50
Where are the Chaplains within either Departments?

51:40
I saw a device on television of an invention of an item when used is like a teaser but it does not electrify a person it shoots a rope out to tie them up. Is something like that worth looking into.

51:47
What is being done to make it where our people feel safe to even call the police to handle situations that we perceive require police interaction?

51:58
I know I can't call the police if I needed to. I'm more scared of them then the situation and that is the problem.

52:33
What preventative measures or programs does the dept have in place to help engage with the community and stop these young ppl before they become felons

53:20
Are police arrested for crimes in Denver, what are the numbers?

54:39
ππΏ agreed Senator Fields

54:54
Black and Brown police kill people too, mainly people of color unfortunately. We need to address a culture of racism, sexism, and violence in general in policing. Two officers of color stood there while George Floyd was murdered.

01:00:05
Why is it no district police department in either Denver or Aurora does not have a visible Chaplain to help deal with Crisis Response??

01:01:35
Holding officers accountable for their actions is astart

01:02:26
There should be money directly put into schools to encourage black boys to become officers! Like a student police club or something!

01:02:49
what are y talking about?. the profiling and excessive force especially in Aurora is outa hand regardless of the consent decree! call 911 and u sit on hold for longer than 8 minutes . come on now. pretty talking points the people don't feel as enthused at all.

01:04:03
chief Thomas are u going to clean house from the bad apples in your department!

01:04:49
Where are they at????

01:05:19
Who are they????

01:05:39
To my understanding about 1000 officers get convicted every year, what is the number in Denver?

01:10:43
Our General Fund is nearly $1.5 Billion - Our Public Safety Budget is $566,000,000.00 That's 39% percent of our General Fund. Only 2% goes to Housing. Nearly half of our unhoused neighbors are Black young men and women in the metro area, followed by our Latino/Chicano neighbors. We had 96 homicides last year, mainly youth of color. Housing Cost and Youth Violence is decimating the Black Community in Denver. We can do better Denver. Save Our City!

01:15:04
We have been waiting for that to happen in regards to Ride alongs.

01:15:09
Onboarding seems to be an issue. I have heard about some very negative experiences with young Black youth interested in becoming police officers. When they are discouraged from being themselves and encouraged to turn their back on those you live and have grown up with, youth are mot motivated to become officers

01:15:16
A budget is a measure of a city priorities, when you value profit over people, its The people who suffer! Black people suffer the most as result of these policies! We need people who have experienced the things these politicians are talking about changing! Redirecting the aim for us!

01:18:21
Right we can police ourselves we don't meed the police

01:18:24
There's to much funding being dispersed to continue making up excuses for historical actions and policies that are specific and intentional. The police force was designed for the behavior they display everyday.

We are getting tired. We are looking for folks with similar values. They get in and flip. they tell us what's not possible, they tell us they work for everyone but Black issues are typically totally neglected. Benign neglect is real. Voting has not led to tangible results in our communities!
