We older generation can be open to change. Some of us encourage change. Provide an avenue for members to become aware of their own level of awareness regarding DEI issues. Share among your members and then invite community members to do the same. The more you learn, the more you look forward to change. (At least that has been my experience.)

Always economics - lack of money affects accessibility all the time

Well said, Jessica. An essential element to remember is the flexible dues addresses equity (giving all (especially diverse)members what's they need to succeed) in the League…opportunity to join.

The proposed agreements are viewable here: https://www.lwv.org/league-management/policies-guidance/proposed-member-rights-responsibilities-policy

this sounds great. I remember looking around at different Join Us pages and being surprised by how many were outdated in terms of qualities of voting members. (many did not yet incorporate the 16yo minimum age limit)
Robin Chen
56:24
what might happen in terms of "household membership" and "student membership"

another potential benefit is to have multiple languages on Join Us pages.

Will LWVUS, state LWV and local LWV all be on the same platform so that dues and membership are able to be updated immediately?
Jessica Rohloff
01:08:17
We envision more local leagues with fewer separate legal incorporations.
Ellie Hutton
01:10:09
As an interesting point, our local League collects only $4 in dues annually.
Ellie Hutton
01:10:41
That is our Local League portion after PMP is paid to state and and national.
Joanie Jones
01:14:18
We raised our dues so we would have $20 remain for local League. Is there an issue with large states capacity to help in many local areas?
Ellen Forbes
01:15:15
Is there a url where this plan is spelled out so that I can share it with my board?
LWVUS Kelly McFarland (she/her)
01:15:29
www.lwv.org/structure has all the information

Thanks, Kelly!

I was reading the book A Simple Justice by Melanie Beals Goan about Kentucky suffragists. In the 1880s Kentucky had more locations doing suffragist work than we have now. Their goal was to be in every county in Kentucky. That was not a typo… Over 140 years ago we had more pockets of suffragists who were engaged in this work of defending democracy!

Can more be shared about the focus on building more state staff capacity ? The obvious implications include need for more fundraising, HR responsibility, standardizing of roles/responsibilities, and the governance/employer role for Board members.
Jennifer Jackson
01:18:44
By removing the administrative burdens we can nurture the individuals who want to get involved.
Evelyn C Murphy
01:20:11
@Mony These details will be worked out. LWVUS will be working with the states on best practices, etc.
Robin, LWV Boston / Cambridge, she
01:21:36
will Join Us website begin to have multilingual options?
Anne Mosakowski
01:25:32
At Convention will we see a model of the platform?
Jennifer Jackson
01:25:36

And there is current thinking that there will be a full Club Express experience and a Club Express light to meet the different needs.
Ellen Forbes
01:30:32
The usual question: Will this recording be made available to us?
LWVUS Kelly McFarland (she/her)
01:30:54
Yes, we can make this available to attendees.
Robin, LWV Boston / Cambridge, she
01:31:13
