More info on how the vaccine received expedited approval and the process

46:36
To learn what the side effects are so far and how safe is the vaccine at the point

47:42
I hope to learn more about the vaccine distribution and how fast this vaccine will be in smaller/low ses communities

49:30
Hi all, if you just came in please choose the language of your heart for interpretation by choosing English or Spanish from the drop down menu under the globe labeled interpretation on the zoom menu at bottom right of your Zoom screen.

49:49
What is RNA

52:07
How does the vaccine work against the new variant

53:29
Hi everyone. My name is Gina Febbraro. I work at the Colorado Department of Public Health. I am here to listen so I can understand what questions community leaders and members have as well as to help Dr. Das answer questions related to vaccine access.

54:54
Have there been any outliers/ adverse reactions during the trial

59:20
What is the acceptable lag time between 1st and 2nd shot. Ae both vaccines 2 shots?

01:00:13
Should people who take the vaccine late expect fewer symptoms. Will the vaccine continue to be refined

01:05:16
are there any concerns for people who want to get pregnant, who are pregnant or breastfeeding for getting the vaccine?

01:06:00
How long will it take for it to be approved by FDA?

01:06:55
That other side effects there are for people who are going to get pregnant in fut

01:08:12
There are a lot of unknowns at the time. Usually it take many years to get approval for vaccines. Why was this one approved within month and how certain are about the long term effects if trails where so short>

01:08:16
?

01:08:26
We are phase 1b above the line right now.

01:11:10
Not sure if it was already mentioned but will undocumented folks be able to get a vaccine without issues?

01:11:43
YES Sam! No ID required to get a vaccine. And it will be free for everyone.

01:11:47
How will the changes in federal administrations impact vaccine production and rollouts?

01:12:30
Dr. Thompson, we hope that the federal administrations changes will do nothing but improve the public health response to COVID overall as well as help with vaccine rollout.

01:12:41
How much will the vaccine cost for people?

01:12:46
FREE!

01:12:46
Muchas gracias por la información

01:14:10
Thanks Gina.

01:14:47
I know that in December, prison inmates had been higher in the vaccine distribution plan because they are at a significantly higher risk of getting COVID. They were then moved down the list and will receive the vaccine according to the demographic group they belong to, rather than receiving priority based on their higher risk living situation. Is there a way to help advocate for them to be prioritized in the vaccine distribution roll out? Are you aware of any groups working toward advocating for folks in jails and prisons receiving the vaccine sooner?

01:17:36
Hi Mary, Yes, people who are incarcerated are a very important group to support and protect from COVID. There are many advocacy groups who have shared their concerns and dissatisfaction with CDPHE and the Governor's Office. I have not learned of any changes to the policy as a result of that advocacy.

01:18:46
Thank you Gina. DO you know the names of any of those groups leading these efforts if I wanted to get involved trying to support their work?

01:19:41
This phone number will become active on Monday! We will share these slides with Dr. Thompson and JaSon to share with you.

01:21:05
this format was great—will any of these sessions be recorded and made available to share later on?

01:22:07
Hi Heather, This session has been recorded and will be shared. CDPHE is also recording an English and Spanish version with only the presentation and no Q&A that we can share widely. If you would like to email me at gina.febbraro@state.co.us, I would be happy to share it once available.

01:22:34
Heather, yes the session is being recorded and will be available in a couple of different places.

01:22:37
It may be a couple weeks until the CDPHE version is ready.

01:24:03
We are also sharing many community-based resources that we just received from the CDC. We will be sharing those out on Monday so you can email me if you would like me to share them with you. Facts sheets in different languages for example.

01:27:46
Did you take the doses?

01:27:49
We really appreciate you being here!

01:28:14
maybe discuss the nanotechnology involved in making the vaccine a little more—I know there’s lots of misinformation about that in particular. This was a great format and very informative. thanks so much!

01:32:26
Do you foresee that this will be some thing mandatory in the future. Ie school, travel, work?

01:34:24
I was on earlier but had to jump off. Can you share (again) if the vaccine makes you immune to Covid or is it more that it reduces symptoms?

01:36:46
I got it! Thank you

01:38:45
Thank you it would

01:38:46
JaSon, in terms of whether this will be mandatory is a very good question. There has been precedence in the past for mandatory requirements by countries, states, and employers for other vaccines (Examples: Yellow fever requirements in other countries, flu vaccine by hospitals, vaccines for kids at schools). There is no mandate at this time, especially given the COVID vaccines are released under an emergency use authorization by the FDA. It is hard to predict how the world will approach this going forward.

01:41:30
Aun recibiendo la vacuna seremos portadores o asintomáticos. Pero no vamos a enfermarnos

01:43:11
Are the first and second doses the same?

01:45:46
As a physician what does Vaccine Equity Mean to you and how do you achieve that equity

01:50:32
What are some of the pros and cons that you have seen?

01:51:36
Thanks so much for this workshop! This will help my family make an informed decision and hopefully take the vaccine that has become available to them! :)

01:53:49
Are there any studies regarding children’s reactions to the shot?

01:58:06
That is exactly why we are here!

01:58:21
great point, so many people I know are not getting the vaccine because of that fear.

01:58:24
