Everyone - when you use the chat please consider modifying the drop down to have it say "All panelists and attendees" rather than just "All panelists" that way everyone sees your ideas. If it just "All panelists" only presenters see it. Definitely your choice but if you are comfortable please share broadly to encourage conversation.\

Our safety plan is very outdated and we need to update to cover new areas/ways that the offenders victimize our victims.

I have seen some discussion on the web (I'm being cautious tho) that MPO's may be illegal. As one example by a law firm:
Jon Moneymaker
02:53:00
https://aaronmeyerlaw.com/358/why-your-military-protective-order-is-illegal-a-guide/
Meg Garvin - NCVLI (she/her)
02:56:06
@Jon thanks for flagging. There are a lot of ways to try to argue a commander has exceeded authority/crossed a line re: constitutional rights with any particular provision of an MPO. This is true of almost any command order. That said MPOs are explicitly authorized by law and generally accepted so the key would be looking at specific terms. We will flag this question for the presenters though and ask for their input as well.
Jon Moneymaker
02:56:47
I haven't read the entire article...but it's interesting that there are some attorney's willing to take a case on this basis!
