As a director, what keeps you up at night with regards to your credit union, or with the credit union system in general?
You can also post your questions or comments in chat if you prefer.
Expectation from Director's Forum: opportunities to work together for common interest. Competition from other FIs is increasing and CU need to work together to survive

As an organization I would like to see the group do more lobbing of our oversight bodies for CU to be an option for people members
DF is a great opportunity for sharing info, ideas and learning about what other CUs are doing.
I think the Directors Forum has been a very well designed and delivered format for education and interaction (networking) of Directors and I hope to continue to participate virtually in the future so I hope when you go to face-to-face you continue in a hybrid format.
Review trends, markets, and consumer behaviour in the finance industry in Canada. All this with the intent to address gaps and opportunities for us to succeed.
hearing other credit unions issues helps us all
World Conference of Credit Unions just occurred and they would be a resource for co-operative interaction/information from other countries
is this just for the directors forum or for each credit union to do so
I am supportive of all Canadian CU Directors being involved in the Forums
there are potentially 3 new cus coming to ON in the coming years that Directors could benefit from learning from your experience as they enter the system
I believe Directors of Mutuals should be included in our group. They seam to have like minded issues.
Would this be membership driven?
I like the idea of opening up the membership but I don't know enough about mutual or non financials to comment
Have to be careful not to duplicate what CMC provides
I support moving in this direction to give us more information related to what we are doing now.
I like the expansion idea - my wife was a member and then Chair of a Communications Co-operative - some common issues
I agree with opening up to CUs across Canada. We have similar issues. Unsure about mutual and non-financial co-ops, as to how the education on issues will work. They may have significant other issues.
I am in favour of other CUs across Canada being part of the Director's Forum. I think there are common interest across the country that we can all learn from.
When we had the session with the mutual it was obvious that we look at the same education for directors - governance etc.
How about reducing regulatory burden?
