Isn't it illogical and occasionally awkward to have the housing element updatrs due every 8 years while the census is decennial? Why not every 10 years say one year post census?
Jacob Noonan, Housing Programs Manager
01:03:41
The state aligned the housing element update to match the transportation funding cycles, so housing and transportation plans are updated on the same schedule

Mr. Noonan, it would be helpful to have the job data per the last decade as well as the number of residents. Thank you, Joanne

Another reason for the housing shortage is that the last decade was a repeat of the previous decade. Not many units have been built in the last 20 years.

RHNA in Marin were actually cut in half in the 2015-23 cycle! In that cycle, we had a RHNA that was 50% less than what other Bay Area communities had to plan for.

This was one of the best housing element kick-offs i’ve seen this year! Well done all :) For volunteers who want to get more involved with housing element advocacy in your region, feel free to check out the Campaign for Fair Housing Elements at https://www.fairhousingelements.org. Keep up the good work!
