I must object to the term "populist" as applied to authoritarianism. The Populist movement was NOTHING like authoritarianism. The term comes from the late 19th century agrarian, cross racial, anti-trust movement that allied itself with the labor movement.

Wolfgang Mack who resides at Aegis on Mercer Island has written an excellent cautionary tale from having been a teenager in Nazi Germany and his first hand experiences with authoritarianism from his business experiences and reflections over a lifetime. title escapes me. Google or check Amazon.
