The new $...i.e. $30m for After School, summer sch...$25m High Risk, Sped...will that be competitive grants? On ESSER III, may I get sample verbiage for Description of Activity column for i.e. $1000 for all returning employees to encourage them to stay with us w/n this tough educational environment due to COVID (as part of additional work due to COVID and just for simply encouraging to stay with us in this tough COVID environment)

What about vehicles to transport materials to buildings. Materials including masks, cleaning materials, portable washing stations and the like. Our current vehicles are 20+ years old and in rough shape.
Jennifer Austin
33:08
Steve, it may vary, depending on what is determined CDE plans on doing with that 10%
APS- Amy Beruan

District's are entering into contracts with vendors for tutoring- so it's problematic for districts as we are already in the process and potentially being awarded formula funds or having alternative funding stream available needs to be released as soon as possible.
Lisa Clark

Can we use ESSER funds for additional sick leave for staff that is specific to COVID?
Jennifer Austin
37:42
or also based on your internal policies
CDE: Niko Kaloudis

Does each charter school have to develop a plan or is just the districts.
Steve Wilson

Indirect costs...can we use that $ to pay our bookkeeper's and superintendent's salaries and not pay them any additional $, but say this $ goes for all of their extra time for COVID applications...

Do all of these plans need to be updated every 6 months

the current narrative question in the application does not mention evidence based interventions- is that going tobe updated? "How will the LEA ensure that the interventions it implements, including but not limited to the interventions under section 2001(e)(1) of the ARP Act to address the academic impact of lost instructional time, will respond to the academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of all students, and particularly those students disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including students from low-income families, students of color, English learners, children with disabilities, students experiencing homelessness, children and youth in foster care, and migratory students?"

At some point can you please share what the current reporting requirements are for ESSER I, II, and III. In particular, I've read some updates from other states that are requiring outcome based reporting for all ESSER. Any guidance would be appreciated as we plan. Thank you!
APS- Amy Beruan
01:07:30
Are these required questions or simply guiding questions?
Doug Shawcroft
01:09:36
Do we have to have the Narrative prepared in order to get the budget approved?
CDE: Niko Kaloudis
01:10:34
@Doug The narrative does not have to be finalized in order for the application to get to final. Some changes will be allowed in the PAR process.
Doug Shawcroft
01:10:55
Great! Thanks!
Jeremiah Johnson
01:11:36
Just to confirm, are these required questions for the application. The second question, looks like it is a very involved question and requires a relatively large lift from districts.
Jeremiah Johnson
01:15:34
Sorry one more question... can you also please provide any reference to federal guidance in regards to the depth of these requests. Thank you!
Jennifer Austin

@Amy No, the narrative won't hold back approval and can be adjusted in PAR until it meets reqs

01:23:13
Would you say that ESSER III fund should be considered as kind of a “response” fund to the learning loss we might be seeing as we have gotten back into school. Is that why the narrative and budget isn’t due until March? Or can it be something used to support say summer school that we have already completed this past summer in response to learning loss?
Larry Brady
01:26:52
Got it. Thanks
