With pent up demand, if we were to start giving vaccine the first weekend of November, the 21 day out 2nd dose would be the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and we can’t staff that and want to protect people from burnout. Are people going to wait another week to start or put 2nd dose out?

We are trying to create the flexibility to update all childhood vaccines when someone arrives (including flu and COVID), but finding that there are a lot of logistics to that. For instance training for COVID vaccine was widely available, but only our MAs and RNs can give things like dtap. Any advice on that? Could the state help encourage that?

We were told that if we used the medical reserve corp volunteers we cannot bill for the vaccine. Is that true?

Any consent or ethics resources or differences under EUA? For example shared custody/decision making one parent consents other does not? Mature minors who want their vaccine but parents decline?

Please comment on the challenges of having the 15" observation period. Our 14 exam rooms are all busy, and it would be difficult to have people wait in cars.

@Shaquita. There are some good resources for how to administer routine childhood vaccines; however, I have found the art of it is best taught by our MAs and nurses. https://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p2020.pdf

I am wondering if a platform such as a list serve could be developed for small to medium practices to discuss the logistics we all face such as what Hal raised and others?
