wil slides be available after the presentation

01:00:23
Can we be on both roads at the same time?

01:01:27
I think we move back and forth between the roads, even as we strive to stay on the road of redemption.

01:01:45
In our society, accountability is important. God is the ultimate judge, but we are also trusted with discernment..which can be tough. How do we reconcile this?

01:01:51
Hi, Don - Yes the slides, and a variety of additional resources, will be made available later this week through the COnference Website.

01:03:22
We choose which road to travel daily. Which one is least traveled?

01:03:23
So then, we must be intentional about traveling on the right road that leads to life! Even if we get off on the wrong road, we must acknowledge it, and make the necessary turn around. Where we may not have the strength, God can strengthen us to move onto the right road!

01:03:24
I believe our primary way of witnessing is through the small acts of kindness we show to our brothers and sisters - I think the pandemic has brought many opportunities for that to the forefront.

01:04:16
Thank you, all, for your comments and insights!

01:05:49
I think the world's perception is that the church ought to be present to guide to the road of redemption; however, because we've set aside our sense of accountability to Christ, we've put the world in a venerable place of punishment.

01:07:13
When we walk in our own way rather than God's way, we can lead others away from redemption, as well as ourselves.

01:08:01
Amen!

01:08:22
Glad there are others that do this

01:08:47
Amen Martha

01:09:10
That shows commitment - and there’s no need to feel guilty about that.

01:09:14
True

01:09:42
James - Sometimes even committees fail to pray when opening or closing a meeting.

01:10:28
Give God the first hour of your day and let God speak first by devotionally reading Scripture. I started getting up an hour earlier in 2013 to do that.

01:10:46
Moving from trying to tell the scripture what it says vs learning what it says

01:13:18
The foundation of our ministries is prayer in Christ.

01:14:32
Other foundation elements: Scripture, Tradition, Experience, Inspiration and Reason

01:17:20
Yes, and EVERYONE has a story worth hearing

01:18:07
When we listen to each other's stories, we can find commonalities that we wouldn't have otherwise.

01:19:05
And just as Jesus included women and other marginalized people, the Methodist church should learn from Him and include our homosexual friends and family!

01:19:19
Amen

01:19:31

01:20:48

I would like to grow in my ability to allow the Holy Spirit to use me to bring healing and reconciliation - give me the words and actions to lead others to Christ and to healing.

Prophets of a Future Not Our Own

01:29:53
t may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, anopportunity for the Lord's grace to enter and do the rest.We may never see the end results, but that is the difference between the masterbuilder and the worker. We are workers, not master builders; ministers, not messiahs. We are prophets of a future not our own.

01:29:58

If you did not have a chance to attend the "Evangelism and Discipleship in a Pandemic" workshop, I recommend you watch the recording for some good resources on how to use online tools more effectively in worship.

This leads as well to difficult decisions that need to be made and honoring those decisions as leaders.
