1) What questions do you have about the grant program or LCP planning aides?2) Which obstacles, reservations or questions do you have that may impede LCP updates?3) Are there general or broad policy issues related to LCP updates that you would like to see further addressed by the SLR Working Group?4) Do you have suggestions for improving the Grant Program?

2. Question: Any specific guidance about the specific phased approach and time lines based on best-available science?3. Reservation: As a grant recipient, how much is a local jurisdiction bound to comply with the demands of Coastal Commission staff and their recommendations with LCP updates? Are we bound to certain expectations?4. General or broad policy Issues: “existing development” definition and “managed retreat” policies5. General or board policy issue: Any increased flexibility from CCC to allow local jurisdictions to adopt different levels of risk in planning for Sea Level Rise, particularly with residential development?

have any of the previous grants been used for regional SL:R planning among multiple neighboring jurisdictions? Also could ESHA planning be covered by either the noncompetitive grant or non-competitive grant? Thanks!

Thanks to all of your work on this. I just want to be clear that the outstanding fundamental disagreements between CCC and local jurisdictions ARE the obstacles that are keeping us from gaining final certification of LCPAs that were adopted after many, many years of adaptation planning work and a science based approach. To Bruce's point, I am referring to adopted local plans that would not be leaving local conditions in an "unmanaged" state. This is why our local communities remain skeptical. In the meantime, at the local level we have continued to plug along with implementation of our adopted local adaptation plans. We look forward to having a process that would allow us to gain final certification of the adopted local plans. Thank you.
