What does it mean to have hope?

47:34
What does it look like to lack hope?

47:40
What does a hopeful person look like and sound like?

56:36
Great job everyone!

57:31
What does it mean to have Hope? (Group 4): Looking forward to the future, staying positive, setting goals, understanding your environment, staying optimistic for things getting better.

57:45
What does it look like to lack hope: Not expecting things to get better, speaking negative;

58:11
Look like: Redirection in a positive way, looking for a positive in all situations;

58:28
Thanks Group 4! Please add here if there are some I missed.

58:48
Thank you it helps when you have a great peers in a breakout

58:53
Great work Group 4 & thanks Tanisha!

58:56
Very thorough! Excellent job group 4.

59:26
Have hope: When you have a reason for seeing the light at the end of the tunnel or for doing the things you are doing; That you have a support system to encourage and help you.

01:00:23
That is what made my score so low - willpower

01:00:49
Look like to lack hope: Not living with purpose and they just haven’t quite caught onto their overall purpose;

01:01:10
Hopefulness looks like seeing a positive solutions to things and they are the captain of their life and make decisions and change their mind every day.

01:01:21
Have Hope: willing to take on challenges and with a positive outlook.

Thank you for the invite and information today. This was great but I have a meeting. Take care

01:37:09
How have you used Hope in your own life? What is the smallest possible change that could increase your Hope? How might you increase the Hope of those you work with? How might those actions/interventions look different in different communities?

01:37:24
Our program worked with CWRU PERI program to develop valid scales for us to use with youth and the set them up with pictures. https://case.edu/socialwork/begun/research-and-evaluation/partnership-evaluation-research-and-implementation-peri

01:37:48
PERI is a great resource. We've worked with them as well.

01:48:59
1. Creating healthy relationships and support systems; 2. Introducing preparedness and planning; 3. Being consistent adults in children's lives, creating safe spaces, sharing shared life experiences

01:49:23
1) How might you increase the Hope of those you work with? Doing more things that show we appreciate our staff. Giving the youth we work with different exposures and opportunities. Mixing up the routine for staff, which trickles down to the youth programs. Communication and connection - gestures such as writing someone a card. Pick up on cues to ensure you reach out to someone who may be going through a hard time. Bonding over food - it helps you get to know people on a more personal level. Being intentional about creating safe spaces and the timing of them.
