I'm nearly finished with a job that entails multiple draperies in each of 12 cabins. Could not have gotten this far without the help of my 17 year old daughter who has been hand stitching all of the side hems.

After 35+ years I still dance around that $100/yard fabric before I make that first cut
Sherry Aitcheson

I used Joanna Braxton Thomas’ Pelmet Making technique to fabricate 3 “cornices” this past week and they turned out terrific and so light in weight! Easy to install!

One thing I have found to do when I'm hesitating is to draw my project, with dimensions and all other information I might have. This might go without saying but I haven't always done that.
Jamie Terral
47:20
The cornice that I showed you a few weeks back, I pre-lined the leg and put the lining on the outside, instead of the inside of the cornice. So, I unscrewed it and relined it and attached it. Oops! I did the same thing... But, I just have to laugh at myself, not beat myself up.
Theresa Rogers
48:43
I literally talk out loud to myself all day long :)
Jamie Terral
48:58

Jamie Terral

I find that when I write something down, it gets it off my mind, because I worry that I will forget.
Sherry Aitcheson
56:37
When I keep trying to finish or my mind isn’t in it …. I just have to stop and mo on to something else or stop for the day.

This week I discovered that managing decorative cord is easier when stitched with the cord flange is placed against the feed dogs. When the cord is on top while applying it to the fabric, I got puckering.
Jamie Terral
