Georgia

I was under the impression that the homeless shelter topic would come up tonight. Is that not the case?
Bill Kenney

We should wrap up soon for the next agenda item (1754 Colvin Ave). Can we get contact info posted in the chat for further questions?
howard miller
01:02:51
Doesn't that have an impact on set-backs and building surrounds?
Kathy Carruth
01:03:37
Kathy Bell has a question and Howard entered one in the chat
Katherine’s iPhone
01:05:24
I was only going to suggest that the green roofs could be monitored through DSI when they do the occupancy permit inspections.
Tia Anderson
01:06:15
thank you Kathy Bell for your suggestion re: inspections
marge
01:09:24
if not in chat already, it would be good to deteerrmine size "planter" to be considered green roof and not a cosmetic or decorative planter.
Kevin Vargas
01:09:41
Thank you Luis and Tia!

Marge - to your question on planter size: know that a functional green roof is designed by a certified Landscape Architect. The size doesn't matter as much as the function... To be counted as part of a Functional Green Roof, the area must be open to the sky and air, include soil and living plant materials for the purpose of retaining rainwater and absorbing heat from sunlight. The depth of soil and planted material shall be at least two (2) inches.
marge
01:23:24
kathy c - can you please make chat avail after this meeting?
Kathy Carruth
01:24:22
Yes -the chat will be available with the recording
Kathy Carruth
01:25:13
Jenna is working on where to post the recordings on the HDC website.
marge
01:26:23
thnks. you anticipated "where to find the link". great
marge
01:33:07
hey tia -- i see you're still on. thanks for your note above. i asked about size of "planter" b/c that seemed significant to making it able to hold rain water, heat and sunlight.
marge
01:33:39
cont) and i hear concerns from others that decorative planters may be counted as "green roof". hope that makes sense
Tia Anderson
01:35:16
Marge - makes sense, which is why I rely on professional Landscape Architects to put forth a Green Roof design
marge
01:37:55
thanks. this was the question we ran out of time for. it seems community would really appreciate the clarity in the "wordsmithing" you mentioned to better define of functional green roof.
marge
01:38:52
really nice to be able to continue this question, tia. thanks
Anthony Adams
01:51:27
Marge: there are requirements around light pollution within the Ford Master Plan and each project is required to submit a photometric plan as a part of their site plan review process. The Block 1 MOB project team is currently working through photometric plan discussions with city staff now.
marge
01:55:34
THANKS anthony. it's great to hear that's carefully considered to maintain a positive aesthetic

Sara K Georgeson

Kevin Vargas
02:25:11
thank you, sara.
marge
02:25:24
interesting points by jim. maybe that's where we start...sharing a kind of pros/cons/questions list among us and with community that we bring forward to the public meeting.
marge
02:25:48
thanks for sharing that, sara. agrred.
marge
02:25:53

Perhaps this is the wrong committee to handle homelessness.
Georgia
02:31:47
Thi seems to be all about buildings, not people.
Georgia
02:32:49
The city council has a public hearing on Oct 6th. Your next council meeting is the 7th.
Georgia
02:33:32
I am very disappointed that this issue was not on the agenda.
Georgia
02:34:33
The HDC gives the impression that they want to weigh in on this.
Sara K Georgeson
02:37:57
Transparency of that type makes sense to me as a community memeber
