I was about to ask about the similarities of this program to the German educational pathways. Is this something that could lead to that type of program in the US?
Our small school in Westbrook CT has embraced WBL and has developed robust relationships with industry and business partners. Are you defining an apprenticeship as it is defined by the Department of Labor, or are you looking at something more like an WBL experience like an internship?
Can you talk a little bit about the difference between apprenticeship and internship?

Will there be an opportunity for schools to use apprenticeship experience in granting grades or college credit?

Growing and growing, you love to see it!
This is awesome!
Do they earn any HS credit for apprenticeship?
What does your high school schedule look like? Do you take High School business education classes that have dual enrollment with the community college? And, do those high school classes count toward your youth apprenticeship hours?
Thank you to the students for bringing a great perspective to their opportunities & experiences. Good Luck with your future!
That is awesome! An advocate for your community!
Impressive young people with high ambitions.
From our good friend Emily Takimoto in Denver: From Emily Takimoto to All panelists: (1:50 PM) Hi there— I am the DPS Apprenticeship Program Manager and wanted to answer a few of these questions! They earn 10 HS Elective credits per semester for the apprenticeship. & re: schedule, there are typically two options: in school half the day and working half day OR full day Tuesday / Thursdays (having to be flexible during COVID times as well though)
