have two concerns. 1) what is to stop them from raising the rate at any time with no regard for spending
2) what is to assure the do not make retired people pay.
what about the ones in-between. I make 70,000 on pensions. what Is to assure that I am not lost in the middle.
Are the income numbers adjusted for inflation?
for education is why they passed gambling, higher property taxes and gas taxes. they promise but spend it else where.
What do you think is being said correctly and incorrectly in the ads against the Fair Tax?
they have promised over and over again and not come thru. what is the promise that they will stick to it. they spend and spend but not on what they should
we have a spending problem.
There’s been much publicity about the Fair Tax impact on farmers. Can you provide some insight/details into that?
does this include the retirees? I would think a lot the them fall into the 58%
will you please acknowledge that the rate structure is not in the amendment
How much of the new revenue goes to pensions
however, our surrounding states do not spend with not regard for budget. the state of Illinois has never had a balanced budget and that does not seem to stop them from spending with no regard for money coming in.
where does Illinois rank is total tax burden by state?
If the "fair tax" passes where will Illinois rank in total tax burden?
I have heard that a YES vote would allow the legislature to change the tax rate at any time. They can do that now, anyway, right?
you seem to be side stepping the pension issues
How can anyone have confidence in state government when Illinois has a high rank in total tax burden and still vital services are underfunded according to you?
What is the difference between state and local municipality funding responsibility (specifically for public safety)?
how long until we reach the end of the ramp
to build on this: what are some of the common misconceptions or incorrect elements you see in ads?
Jean, Aren't you telling us that more taxes are on the horizon?
so the politicians have no limits to what they can change the rate to. with out any input from the citizens.what time is the time for the presentation on Thursday. I still have questions and concerns. So far I have heard nothing that makes me uneasy to vote yes.
You said that this increase will not solve the pension shortfall
Again, most retired individuals are not in the higher rate or the lower rate field, they fall in the middle between the higher rate and lower rate. we settle in Illinois because of the no taxes on pensions and income. I feel the state is not going to be able to get the monies they need frim the higher level. this level has all kinds of tax breaks (tolets etc.) that means they are going to have to lower the rate to get the retirees to pay they share.
everyone meaning the retirees.
marijuana income might help! :)
my apologies, but I have to leave. Thank you very much for sharing your information with us

Are there any spending reforms that you support or do you only support tax increases?
will there be a presentation from AARP?
Are we able to have access to these slides?

My experience (at least in my district) has been that the elected official ignore the wishes of the voters in general.
According to USA Today, Illinois ranks at 8
