Great point, Christine. I wonder how we can persuade folks to join the conversation at all, if they're part of the 1/3 right-most people. Any ideas?

Put together a database of police departments / towns that have started racial trust-building conversations in their communities.
Ken Barnes (he, him)
01:32:49
Thanks, Lane. Maybe you can share your list of other great resources, so everyone here can look at some of those as well as the ACLU course. What do people think? (I know I'd like to do that.)

I will contribute what I know about police departments working successfully to change their culture and communities with Racial Trustbuilding processes.

Has Karen (or anyone) done similar work with local prosecutors, as well as with police depts.? I've been intrigued by the TV show on Larry Kramer's transforming the DA's office in Philly.

I've educated myself about how key the prosecutor problem is to racial injustice in the criminal justice system. My African American cousin Prof. Angela J. Davis of American U. is educating progressive prosecutors-to-be. Google her for a great YouTube talk. Read her anthology with Bryian Stevenson Policing the Black Man.

ESJ again offers the foundational workshop Me and White Supremacy, an intensive 28-day challenge that leads readers through a journey of understanding their white privilege and participation in white supremacy, so they can stop inflicting damage (often unconsciously) on black, indigenous and people of color, and in turn, help other white people do better, too. Register here for the next session:https://eldersaction.org/event/me-and-white-supremacy-workshop/Wednesdays: September 8 – October 13, 2021 at 9:00 – 11:00 am PT / 12:00 – 2:00 pm ET.
