Powerful poem.

Fabulous poem! Beautiful reading, I was travelling visually with it. ‘In another town the air appears to be dyed red’ ‘ the way we have become, far too accepting to the devastation around us’ - the images go on and on between pauses. ‘All I can do is be there silent and sad my hand on my sons shoulder” Thank you.

Thanks for reminding us about the courage that immigration requires. Thinking of all the children who have crossed the southern border in the past few years--just to be imprisoned.

I love that - starting with what is in front of one. Weather influences everything.

What would you say to poets who don't send their work out?

to be more specific who hold their work so close that they don't share it much

The question is: For those who write on the subject of trauma. What are the challenges, what are the responsibilities, in terms of working ethically? Does form play a role in resolving ethical concerns?

Possibly, re violence. I mean, it is a chop, isn’t it? That cut could reflect the trauma. I’ll add that the main ethic of one’s own trauma is to tell YOUR truth.

And avoid denigrating others’ truths and experiences. Nobody alone owns pain.

And check your own biases.
