Thank you Wei Wu for being here from JJDC and providing such amazing support for entrepreneurs & innovation!Question for you: I am the Founder of Yes Roam, a company on a mission to add more pleasure to the world by celebrating & normalizing female sexual health, wellness & pleasure through developing innovative, quality, modern Femtech products & services.  Product #1 is a patent-protected pleasure accessory.Would J&J consider being part of innovation and supportive to entrepreneurs in this area of Femtech?

Hello everyone, thank you so much for the talk and for introducing amazing opportunities. My cofounders and I are all-female, first-time entrepreneurs, how should we choose the right teammates and advisors that can help fill gaps in the founding team and add credibility during fundraising?

Mairin, you said you sought out female leaders to learn from. How did you first make the connection with them and do you have any advice on that?
Nicole Bu

Hi everyone! Really appreciate this opportunity to join this meeting with excellent female leaders. We are a personalized women’s health company based on microbiome and genetic analysis. We are led by former Head, Microbiome Platform of J&J and founder of Livongo, and we look forward to partnering with or investing in companies in APAC and beyond. As an all-female team promoting a female-oriented product, how can female entrepreneurs position themselves to raise money and pitch from predominantly male investors? Thank you for the honesty and advice, this is very empowering.
Kathy Hoyt
01:41:03
are female VCs any more supportive of women’s products than male investors? we assume that but is it true?
ThoughtFull World
01:42:53
Hi everyone, thank you for your presentation! I run a digital mental health company called ThoughtFull (www.thoughtfull.world).As a solo female-founder, one thing I've found more common amongst women vs. men founders is imposter syndrome. We may have great traction and product but somehow we tend to undersell. What are actionable steps we can do in the day-to-day to overcome this?
Melanie Derwin: Yes Roam
01:47:13
Thank you for sharing all this amazing insight and experiences as female founders! When a company is in pre-revenue & still in R&D phase, most VC’s will not consider. What other fundraising suggestions do you have at this stage?
Melissa Kim
01:50:49
thank you for sharing that Liping

Our company is in final R & D before launching. We need 81K to bring it home. But we keep getting “male” advice to ask for a million. We don’t need a million and don’t want to give away that much equity. But they say in tech,. investors won’t do low numbers like 81K.

What does the panel recommend?
Kathy Hoyt
01:59:26
no the advice is because they say tech investors only do big asks and opportunities
