Hi, Bren - it’s so nice to have a fellow Kentuckian in today’s session. Nice to meet you! My email is lu.young@education.ky.gov

29:31
Thanks! I was on the KBE retreat and Reg mtg call and noticed you were willing to send 5 to NASBE annual conf, but had less. I’m willing to go if that can be arranged! :)

31:11
Good question! How are we monitoring loss of info over the pandemic school outage and are we comparing that to the regular summer slide?

33:52
I’m a parent and I recognize that not all students had the same access to technology and internet so I don’t assume all students lost the same. Some parents still had to work more and couldn’t be as engaged as some to make sure learning took place.

And students with disabilities!

I happen to agree with DeVos’s point in her letter: Parents agree. A recent survey conducted by the Data Quality Campaign showed that nearly 90 percent of parents want information about how school closures affect students.4 Additionally, 77 percent of parents agree that states should resume administration of statewide summative assessments in math and reading in 2021 to better understand how well schools and students are meeting academic standards in the wake of the pandemic

01:06:42
Yes Ms. Lynn Olson!

01:09:21
