Some of us have been studying this rise of autocracy in U. S. since about 2000. It’s been happening for quite a long time. Masha Gessen has written several powerful books. One that I’ve read is “Surviving Autocracy.”

We’ve also been working in several ways to educate others about the decline of our democracy. Democratic leaders and all others who care about preserving our democracy need to work overtime now to protect it.

Democrats will have to carry the full load of the work to protect our system of elections, especially the mail-in vote. Steve Hobbs is our new Secretary of State, so we will need to make sure that he doesn’t give in on our mail-in voting system.

If people would watch “Deadline White House” with Nicolle Wallace, they would develop a very good understanding of what’s happening to our democracy and WHY.

AGAIN: Beer House Putsch!!!

On the 8th you provided links to contact "Commom Cause" and "Represent Us" for phone banking. I feel totally intimidated with the propect of phone banking but I decided to try to do it. Unfortunately I could not get either system to work and I am not the only one since I heard one women just give up in the middle of the process on a zoom meeting. In particular I got stuck because I was supposed to inpt a code that I was told was went to my email but it was never sent for either Common Cause or for Represent Us. I was able to review the scripts but they are so involved. I just feel overwhelmed.

The right wing inside the police and military are going to be a big problem. As in other countries, do not assume they will take the "good" side when it hits the fan. They may well be part of the problem.
