The class action attys are recommending those who are incarcerated complete their own form, in hard copy, the IRS is not recognizing POA or other’s filing for them, so there is great risk of it being rejected.

Does the IRS define 'incarceration' as being in jail and/or prison? Or is it specific to one or the other?

Peter
01:07:04
Yes - if you have not received a stimulus payment yet. You need to file a simplified return so that the IRS knows where to send your payment.

For work I help returning citizens fill out their Medicaid applications, phone applications, etc. and we always require them to sign a release of information and upload the form to whatever website we are assisting with. Is there a document upload section on the IRS stimulus website?
Lyndsey Schab
