A full house, wish you all well
Clarence Blalock

I will take Whoopi Goldberg with the center square for the win in District 5
James Burge
13:34
What forum was this?
Joey Shea
14:33
Hey James! (Joey from Southface way back!) This is the district 4 city council candidate form “What’s your plan” deep dive on housing and transit issues.
Joey Shea
14:40
**sorry district 5
James Burge
16:36
Hey Joey! The candidates were just chatting about some forum taking place this morning were there was a lot of yelling, and I was just wondering what the event was.
Liliana Bakhtiari
17:08
Oh our bad James, it was a march for voting rights
Liliana Bakhtiari
17:13
Not a forum
James Burge
18:03
Ah, okay.
Clarence Blalock
18:26
All 5 qualified candidates are here, FYI

That's not the question, King. The question is how will you ensure we get accountability from MARTA, the Council and Mayor.
Brian Sumlin
58:19
no the MARTA ANALYSIS voted for light rail!
Brian Sumlin
59:49
the southwest side also, and the south and west beltline loop. That's not fair for the northwest to go first
Kris Brown
01:00:57
I don’t think she’s saying the NW should go first, just that we don’t own the right of way yet in the westside/nw side
Brian Sumlin
01:02:49
ok understood @Kris. So instead of using MARTA we need to use somebody else to build the rail
Joey Shea
01:03:39
Audience members can only see Q&A questions they post, so we have actually a few great questions in there. :) People are with you Joe!
Kris Brown
01:04:33
@Brian I think we can still push MARTA to do it, there’s just an extra step since the right of way hasn’t been purchased yet. I’m not an expert though lol
Richard Wright
01:06:31
Hi all my name is Richard N Wright and I am running for Mayor of Atlanta. Excellent conversation. I am very interested in working with The District 5 Council person as Mayor.
Brian Sumlin
01:06:53
MARTA, City Council, and the Mayors office need to realize that it is NOT their $250 million dollars, it is our money we raised for 5 years !!!
Brian Sumlin
01:07:12
our money meaning the residents
Richard Wright
01:08:28
@Brian you are correct. Tax dollars are the citizens money.
Brian Sumlin
01:09:15
yes sir @ Richard, but do our elected officials know that?
Katie Kissel
01:11:02
I can't help if speaking the truth sounds like bragging ;-)
Brian Sumlin
01:11:22
Like for example, one of the at-large- candidates trying to persuade me that BRT is better than light rail? I like "no" when there is a 600 page document MARTA presented almost 10 years ago endorsing light rail. So I was trying to explain to him that how do you know what our money is best for that we raised thus far, its not your money!!!
Richard Wright
01:12:22
@Brian That’s one of the reasons I am running for Mayor. I am a CPA. My motto is one time and under budget.
Brian Sumlin
01:15:19
see the southwest side always gets the short end of the stick the southeast etc!!!
Brian Sumlin
01:15:40
that needs to be fixed, and the west side
Mandy Mahoney
01:17:40
Well said Doug.
Katie Kissel
01:18:39
changing zonings does necessarily mean getting rid of green space
Katie Kissel
01:18:53
that is a misunderstanding of the question to say so.
Liliana Bakhtiari
01:19:51
Correct, and that was supposed to be a yes or no answer, and I made a mistake by expanding. It was supposed to be yes or no on single family
Katie Kissel
01:22:14
the tree ordinance needs to be given more teeth at the same time as zoning issues are addressed
Katie Kissel
01:22:18
both are possible
Liliana Bakhtiari
01:22:29
Yep, it is not a one off, and never has been
Richard Wright
01:22:52
My website is www.wrightforatl.com
Brian Sumlin
01:22:56
NO that's not the answer I think, why are we asking them!
Logan Nolte
01:30:43
thank you for your time and thoughtful answers to all the district 5 candidates!
Elizabeth Smith
01:33:08
I'm really surprised Bacote's votes as a member of the Fulton County Development Authority aren't being discussed.
Elizabeth Smith
01:35:20
I think the public needs to hear more on the tax breaks impacting Atlanta.
Brian Sumlin
01:35:47
@elizabeth I agree
Joe Buchanan
01:35:49
Did anyone ask?
Elizabeth Smith
01:36:08
Question submitted, but not asked
Joe Buchanan
01:36:18
Seems fair to me
Elizabeth Smith
01:36:41
The topic needed to be discussed in public.
Joe Buchanan
