Thanks Grant for the shout out! It's been great being part of a community centric vaccination roll out and being enabled to do it in a way which works for our community :-) Hilary

Thanks Hilary, look forward to catching up at your practice sometime soon. Kim is arranging a visit alongside a meeting with Sir Tumu.

Please can you advise why were given such short notice for setting up clinics. Jon
Pihanga Health
12:19
Perfect. Shame you didnt get to see the vaccination Hub on your way through - its a really special reflection of our community. Maybe on the way back if you get the chance - give me a call if you can.
Grant
14:48
Thanks. Heading south from here but definitely on my next trip which should be soon.
Pihanga Health
15:02
Perfect!
Jon
15:46
Why were texts sent out to people when the vaccines were not available? This has caused a huge amount of anxiety and annoyance.
Grant
15:50
Joe, has the geographic issue with remote rural communities getting no vaccination clinics coming up on Book My Vaccine?
Jon
17:32
The age bands seem to be a nonsense. It sounds like a free for all. I also had a patient told by the telephonists on the phone that I should do more clinics when the MoH limit the number we can do.
Elaine Munro
23:57
we weren't given the choice, if we want to vaccinate our patients we need to agree to being a community hub. Mataura, Southern DHB

Happy to talk about the experiences in Turangi and our practices' part in the process to date and our plans for the future
Kay

We can share a perspective from our work embedding the vaccine clinics alongside our everyday clinical work in Te Kauwhata - agree Kay some of the 'top down' messaging has been challenging : )

Thanks Robin, Linda

Can you give more details how we can use our own PMS rather than the CIR system as this has not been made clear. At the moment we have to use the CIR as we were not aware any other system was available.
Pihanga Health
42:24
Real time vax status - absolutly yes please!
Jon
43:02
My error. $36 and $48 in hours and out respectively without GST. Not with GST. Jon
JOHN GATES
47:24
our patients receive the text in regards getting the vaccine but it says do not call your medical centre. meanwhile we are vaccinated site … Doctors@42 Huntly why is that?
Jon
47:44
Horror. The CIR system is a dog. I hope they make this alot simpler.
Pihanga Health
48:43
We do 90 per hour with 3 vaccinators, 2 administrators, 1 for observation and booking second vaccine date and 1 floater
Kay
51:24
they are running low on syringes etc makes a difference of how many doses you can get out of a vial
Jon
52:08
90 an hour is 1 vaccine per 2 minutes. This must be brutal on the vaccinators. In addition you must have 1 or 2 drawing the vaccines up.
Robin Baird
52:12
We do about 60 over 2.5 hr clinic; 2 vaccinators, 1 admin and 1 observation - limiting factor really space in waiting room

Supply is a big one for us (being the remotest rural clinic under the photo behind the presenters!). We will be planning to bring in additional workforce specifically for the vac clinics (including paying travel) and need to be assured we can be supplied as expected.
Karen Chapman
55:06
We have had an enquiry from an Australian holidaying in NZ for the net 2 months if they can a have a Covid vaccination at our practice. Are foreign visitors currently in NZ eligible?
Pihanga Health
56:55
We draw up before the clinic starts - and then again depending on how long we are running for. If the clinic only has to vaccinate 200 patients they can be done in 2.5 hours plus draw up time. We can spread it out but we have found that vaccinators prefer to be busy and keep the flow going.
