can freshmen student still apply to the IB program

35:32
Hi Sarah,

35:57
hello

37:02
I think that it would depend on the classes that you are taking as a Freshmen. There are certain classes that IB students take and need to be at a certain level for others. I think that you will need to have a conversation with Ms. Larocco.

41:34
I might have missed it by accident, but would it be like a during school program or would it be like sort of an after school program?

41:55
It's during school, they provide transport

42:17
Oh okay, thank you!

42:37
your welcome

42:55
okay I will contact ms. larocco

50:02
Can we make the extended essay about war world 1 or 2?

51:04
FYI I am leaving at around 7 but I'll be back around 7:10

51:29
im here

51:40
Yes, you can choose any topic for EE

55:48
if a student is a transfer student from another country and doesn’t have SOL scores what is the alternative to the SOL score

57:26
if a student wishes to graduate early, does IB allow this?

57:58
you can't graduate early through IB, it's a full highschool program

58:44
Hi Sara, I think Ms. Bentley-Goode is best suited to answer your question, but I do know depending on the grade level that students transfer, not as many SOLs are required.

59:33
Sarah,

01:00:43
If a student isn’t in all honors classes are they still able to be in IB? I’m asking because I’m in 8th grade and taking regular English and math but before I moved to scps in 7th grade, I was in pre-algebra for 6th grade

01:01:37
There are several things to consider for SOLS. That is a conversation that we will need to have at a different time. However, if you do not have test scores from another country, then you would hve to take SOLs during your high school years.

01:01:58
as long as you have passed one year of a world language and algebra 1 by the end of the eighth grade you can qualify for IB

01:02:31
Are most of the writing assessments research needed assessments?

01:03:38
Yes, IB papers are mostly research based, higher level essays

01:03:51
Okay thank you

01:05:18
do you have to take the class world language to join? or can you do something like Spanish?

01:06:01
"world language" just means a foreign language class (Spanish, French, German, Latin)

01:06:08
when I said world language I meant spanish, german, latin or french. it doesn't have to be the world language class

01:06:28
thank you Rhianna

01:06:50
ok. that makes more since, thankyou!

01:08:07
the world language class is a great prerequisite before picking a language though! it'll help to get a taste of the languages offered before committing to a specific language for 5+ years

01:09:06
I am in Spanish currently thought

01:12:52
when will the application be sent out?

01:13:13

You can be in any high school to apply for CGS and IB

01:34:09

01:36:48
Is CGS only in-school learning?

01:37:05
CGS follows the county policy on in-school, Hybrid, and virtual learning.

01:37:20
Oh ok

01:37:30
Hi Ms. Koening, the only thing that will be different is the date of the ability testing and an intent to enroll document you will need to sign upon acceptance into the program.

01:38:16
If someone exits the CGS program, then a replacement student will be selected from students who apply for that upcoming year. No replacements are made during the school year.

01:39:54
what if you are planning on moving to a different county

01:40:30
depending on which county and high school, we have CGS sites there as well!

01:40:49
okay thank you

01:41:12
Veronica, if your move is to a county in the CGS program, we will arrange for you to receive a seat in that county's program

01:44:24
ok thanks

01:44:34
Karaline, We have had a few students graduate in 3 years but it is unusual.

01:44:42
the cost of the field experience vary from year to year. We try to give firm amounts by the start of the school year for budgeting purposes
