we deinitely need to strenghten our efforts and create nore synergies through using what there is. As European network since 1993 we offer to use our Tourism2030 - Green Travel Maps https://destinet.eu/market-place/green-travel-maps with currently 16,000 certified tourism businesses and destionations - multiplying these 2 % to 10%> 20% > more until 2030 - to make touris a driver for the SDGs , esp SDG12 , see also The Travel Green Planet 2030 initiative https://destinet.eu/who-who/civil-society-ngos/travel-green-planet-2030-initiative to share the Green Travel Maps for own purposes >interest? contact me on herbert.hamele@ecotrans.de

Great Question Kirsten, I think one of our biggest challenges in community based tourism is marketing…how can awesome communities and project be “Found” and the challenge that communities and projects often don’t have the capital to invest into marketing materials/brochures, websites etc. I have often thought large tourism membership associations should offer some free membership for a few years to sites like GSTC, Tourism Cares :) ATTA, TIES, etc. . For start ups this would really help amplify reach.
