The 504 Democratic Club is one of only three city-wide Democratic clubs here in NYC and the nation's first and largest advocating for the civil rights of People with Disabilities. We appreciate your recommendation for enlisting candidates and elected officials and look forward to viewing the toolkit and your other materials. At this month's meeting we are interviewing elected officials from Congress and the state Assembly and Senate. We will certainly appeal to them to assist in NDVRW activities. Thank you kindly

I realize that this is "off topic" but it is a serious problem with CA and State Courts not providing and denying disability assistance/access/accommodations, and putting barriers in the way of the disabled and violating ADA Title II/III and CA Unruh Sec 51. They also expect the disabled to be a lawyer or incur legal fees to fight for disabled rights or appeal their discriminatory and biased rulings or denials of accommodations!

Are groups like AAPD holding forums with Senators?
Mickey Rottinghaus
01:27:03
Any honest question proposed to a candidate will make that person think.
Lilian Aluri (she/her), REV UP
01:27:52
Agreed, good questions Al Brody, one of the things we can do is contact our Senators and Representatives in Congress and let them know how these voting rights bills impact us! We have not held a forum yet with Senators, but the voting rights bills have been a big focus of our advocacy this year. That is definitely a fascinating idea! The Leadership Conference and the Declaration for American Democracy have a lot of good advocacy tools on voting rights.

01:28:16
We had every Democratic candidate in 2016 come to meetings in Iowa at which they had the opportunity to answer question.
