Toni @FYIMart
02:21:12
2 questions asked earlier:
Toni @FYIMart
02:21:26
What is the medium used ? Primarily oil
Toni @FYIMart
02:21:31
Does she use airbrush
Elise Arnold
02:22:06
I am curious about her path , youth and guidance-
Sarah Rezette
02:22:18
Yeah, if not airbrush.. how does you build this incredible smooth effect ?
susan bennett
02:22:30
What mediums for the oil… linseed or premixed mediums..or turps?
Tim O'Dea
02:23:56
Pallette for skin tones?
@vasalisart
02:24:10
❤️liquin team❤️
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:24:11
Windsor & Newton Liquin - don’t touch it.
Hazel
02:24:20
I LOOOOVE the smell of liquin.
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:24:28
They make two versions, the original and the liquid version.
mina usanmaz
02:24:43
is it toxic to touch liquin?
lia simone
02:25:51
Do you use Mischteck style?
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:25:53
In general I try not to touch the paint, but yes especially solvents.
"Rosie" Eileen Rose NY
02:26:41
Do you varnish all your finished works. Do you have a favorite varnish you use? Did you ever do a google image search for your lost paintings. Maybe they will appear someday somewhere. So sorry to hear about that. Non-attachement lessons no so easy ..lesson.
@vasalisart
02:27:00
preferred oil brand?
"Rosie" Eileen Rose NY
02:27:13
Do you have to pay or make a contract with your models?
Rosa Beryl
02:27:13
so you achieve your skin tones primarily through direct painting vs. building thin layers?
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:27:26
Blair spray varnish
wendy wachtel
02:28:37
Amandas: Can we use LIQUIN as a medium for our oil layers in our MIsch work?
Trina Johnson
02:28:53
what color does she use for her under painting?
Trina Johnson
02:29:19
is it a grisaille...greys?
susan bennett
02:29:25
What is your solvent of preference?
Lainey
02:30:06
do you mostly paint on canvas or board? if both which do you prefer?
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:32:21
Wendy, you sure can! In the past Amanda has taught it with liquin and a little mineral spirits. <3
wendy wachtel
02:32:55
👍💕
wendy wachtel
02:34:09
could Toni do a very small demo of her working? maybe too much to ask….
wendy wachtel
02:36:10
maybe a look at her working on the piece she’s got a deadline on
Emmlyne Emmanuel
02:36:36
Toni suggested an artist to check the work, can you write the name please?
Kanojo Ukeru
02:36:38
Can you tell us about the painting behind you?
@vasalisart
02:39:20
also when sharing on social media ask the model if they wish to be tagged, sometimes they’re expecting it, sometimes they can get very shy
wendy wachtel
02:41:08
Toni, are you painting the challenges of your face as it ages? Yours looks beautiful now and then! But are you painting the changes?
Hazel
02:41:57
I agree.. I was just thinking how great her face would be for portrait drawing practice.
Amanda Sage
02:42:12
Wendy: Yes you can use Liquin Fine Medium as a medium especially in lower layers for glazing - there are some drawbacks as it can repel casein and egg tempera if you use too much… Though it definitely does work and I have used it before and teach with it sometimes when we have a big time crunch
wendy wachtel
02:42:17
those cheekbones!
Trina Johnson
02:44:17
What colors does she use for her underpaintings? does she do grisaille (greys)
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:45:52
Emmlyne, if it was the sculptor, I believe it was Woodrow Nash
Sannie (Ireland)
02:45:56
Wow, that's a great way of looking at it. Eyes first, nice.
Chantel Twocrows
02:47:07
I would love to see a time lapse of your work, the eyes first is a wonderful connection.
Emmlyne Emmanuel
02:47:41
Thanks
Alecia Sacred Heart
02:48:18
Was that it, Emmlyne? The sculptor?
@vasalisart
02:49:33
I’ve also used original liquin for mische, maybe use JUST liquin as medium and that won’t repel other mediums
Amanda Sage
02:51:18
Woodrow Nash
Shara Osgood
02:52:07
Also photographer Ernie Panccioli
Aoife Brown
02:53:32
Thankyou Toni..that would be great.
wendy wachtel
02:53:40
Amanda do you agree or also do eyes first? to make it real?
Emma Marie Whelan
02:54:25

As someone covered in freckles I was wondering how to include them in portraiture... Thank you for mentioning it.
wendy wachtel
02:57:14
good one amanda
"Rosie" Eileen Rose NY
02:57:25
Rosie suggests putting in the main wrinkles and not ALL of them. Because when we are looking in the mirror., we see a lot more than most people see…and don’t make the shadows of the wrinkle too dark.I they are not nostrils, .because they just seem darker to me in front of the mirror then they really are..AManda once drew me as the demo for a class and she was kind. so you knew it was me…and there were some winkles but it was still flattering and I didn’t look 95
Elise Arnold
02:58:23
I hope to draw my 92 year old mother tomorrow- !!
wendy wachtel
02:58:42
the wrinkles are gorgeous on your fourties, not so mmuch in your sixties

03:00:00

Elise Arnold
03:00:25
Great to hear the process from y’all about the give and take
Sarah Kushwara
03:00:54

Paulina Colours
03:00:58
hazel you're beautiful because you're you <3
"Rosie" Eileen Rose NY
03:01:14
