Does rooster teeth do internships?
ryan swantkowski
32:34
I have to go but thank you for this awesome zoom!
Joe Clary
32:50
We do do internships!
Joe Clary
33:05
They are limited currently, but hoping to grow our internship program.
Mariana Abreu
33:09
What projects are you guys most excited for?
Santiago Sanchez
33:29
What’s Roosterteeth’s usual timeline for one of your 2d shows vs one of your 3d ones?
Joe Clary
33:38
https://jobs.lever.co/roosterteeth
Jonathan Dryden-Jaffe
33:46
What types of internship opportunities are available in Live Action, or Broadcast departments?
Spencer Simons
33:57
Does that also go for writers/VAs?
Ryan Vazquez
34:33
With the animation studio internship position, do you need experience in drawing and art?
Marion Henry
34:33
I've been a big fan of death battle for years, so I'd like to ask yall if the four of you got into a free-for-all fight to the death, who would win?
Jack Alsaffar
35:16
How much experience is recommended for animation jobs?
Stephen Ozan
36:08
How would you go about showing your experience for a technical artist/director position?
Joe Clary
36:41
Most excited for gen:Lock 2 and all of our RWBY and Red vs Blue content!
Paola Flores
36:47
Can we apply to more than one internship positions that you guys are offering?
Angela Medina
37:01
What prior experience did you have before joining Rooster Teeth?
Joe Clary
37:02
Broadcast and LA internships are listed at the link too!
Santiago Sanchez
37:30
How big is a usual Roosterteeth production team?
Joe Clary
37:51
You do not need to have drawing or art experience for the Studio Production Intern, this is a production type role for someone who wants to be a coordinator / producer.
Spencer Simons
38:58
Which positions require no animation services? I'm what you may call artfully challenged.
Brad Martin
39:02
Do you work much with social media influencers?
Mariana Abreu
39:02
For the internships do they allow flexible schedules?
Spencer Simons
39:06
Animation experinece
Joe Clary
39:06
Spencer, writing internships are not available yet. VA internships aren’t something we will be doing but I recommend auditioning and practicing as much as possible if you want to be a VA.
Spencer Simons
39:12
is what I meant
Evelyn Thai
40:50
How has work in/for Roosterteeth changed especially during this pandemic era? Are employees/interns more remote and international? Are schedules changed? Did you learn to use different projects/programs?
Lila Mali
42:37
Is it possible to gain experience on the production side and also look into an artist/animation job? (if you have artist experience)
Jack Alsaffar
43:45
this is incredible lore
Isabelle Milford
44:11
are the internships mainly remote/virtual or in person?
Joe Clary
44:40
The Animation Studio Production intern role is currently remote.
Joe Clary
45:06
The internships are 20 hours a week, and yes, very flexible to accommodate your school/work schedules.
Ryan Vazquez
45:29
what is the flexibility on working on multiple projects? are you relegated to just one or can you help out other things in the studio?
Isabelle Milford
45:45
thank you!!
Joe Clary
47:17
Animation doesn’t really work with influencers, we do animate things for Achievement Hunter and other RT properties that are more in the social media world.
Brad Martin
47:45
Thank you!
kelly zhang
47:51
@Laura, what is your favorite part of your job?
Hugo Lopez
48:21
Are there plans to include writer internships in the future? How much experience did each of you have before joining Rooster Teeth?
Debanhi Gonzalez
48:27
As professionals, what is a piece of advice that you could give us as students in order to prepare for professional roles within Rooster Teeth?
Evelyn Thai
48:34
^^^^
Jack Alsaffar
49:03
What is a 2-D animator's daily schedule like?
Santiago Sanchez
49:14
Have to go. Great presentation!
Isabelle Milford
49:20

Maximiliano Cab
50:34
How do people pitch a show for RoosterTeeth?
Jack Alsaffar
50:43
^^
Katherine Lee
52:01
Do the internships take any level of experience?
Marion Henry
53:52
For Laura, what's your favorite book on the shelf behind you?
Joe Clary
55:11
TEAMWORK = DREAM WORK
Taylor Long
56:19
Im interested to know what qualifications/past work you look for in the programming and scheduling intern position
Joe Clary
57:48
The broadcast and programming internships are both outside of Animation so we can’t really speak to those. Sorry.
Alyssa Duong
57:53
I remembered seeing an IT intern position on the website but its not there anymore. Is that internship position closed?
Joe Clary
59:20
RT like most production studios, will not take unsolicited pitches for projects. If we receive an unsolicited email from someone with a pitch or show idea, we must delete it. This is a legal thing, to protect both the IP and the creator. If you want to write and pitch shows, I would focus on getting an agent or manager, who would do the work of getting your pitch heard for you.
Mariana Abreu
01:00:49
^ interesting
Joe Clary
01:01:18
No level of experience is needed for the internship roles.
Joe Clary
01:01:43
Looks like it’s filled, Alyssa, but check back next semester.
Lauren Ferro
01:01:44
I have to go to class, but thank you for your time talking with us today. I am excited to apply!
Laura Yates
01:01:59
@Marion - I'm not sure if you can see it, but it would probably be my very-worn copy of One Hundred Years of Solitude, or the illustrated Alice in Wonderland :)
Debanhi Gonzalez
01:03:43
What is your favorite part within your position?
Marion Henry
01:05:12
@Laura My dad has a really awesome cheshire cat mug that changes imagery when you pour something hot in it. Definitely the coolest thing you can put coffee into
Jack Alsaffar
01:05:17
Thank you!!
Ryan Vazquez
01:05:35
Do you all primarily use Macs or PCs in production? I know Macs have some software's that dont work on PCs
Isabelle Milford
01:05:53
i got to go, but thank you guys so much for being here and teaching us so much!!
Joe Clary
01:06:11
Debanhi, for me it’s getting to make animation every day with amazing people. Making cartoons has always been my dream job, and I’m just so thankful to be able to do it. :)
Laura Yates
01:06:20
We use both, in different roles! For example our 3D pipeline is all on PC, but our audio team works on Mac.
Joe Clary
01:06:43
Most producers use Mac too, for some reason.
Jennifer Quiroz Octaviano
01:06:45
How long are the internship positions for? Is there a set time, if admitted, for which we will be working for Rooster Teeth? Or Is the timeline specific to each department? Thank you.
Debanhi Gonzalez
01:06:52
@Joe, Thank you so much for your insight!
Joe Clary
01:06:59
Internships are 8 weeks long
Liliana Esparza
01:07:12
At what point in our college career would you recommend applying for internships?
Stephanie Wilhite
01:07:35
if they are 8 weeks long, is there availability over the winter?
Joe Clary
01:08:15
I believe we will do a Winter internship too, but I will need to confirm with our HR team.
Joe Clary
01:08:40
I’d recommend internships at any time in college, if it’s something that will get you experience. Experience is the key.
Alyssa Duong
01:10:13
Thank you so much for your advice and insight!
Jack Alsaffar
01:10:33
All of this has been simply incredible. Thank you all so much!
