Welcome Zoom attendees! Please send along any questions via the chat and we'll get them answered. If you can respond here with your lot number, I will make sure you're signed in as having attended.
The question being asked is what was the estimate to fix the pump that is broken.
The answer is - the estimate was $61,000 just to replace the broken pump.
We spend $10,000 just on the electricity to run the pump
and any ongoing maintenance costs are ours to bear as a community
Question: how long does a pump last?
Answer: according to the well company, 4-8 years, depending on a lot of factors (quality of the water coming up)
Question: will there be a special assessment for whatever option we choose tonight?
Answer: no. Either option we choose tonight is covered by the reserves we currently have in our HOA account, thanks to dues collected and good management by our Treasurer and our board
Question: Are we planning to get another estimate for well repair?
Answer: We tried 5 companies before we could even find one who could service our deep community well. They have had a very hard time finding a replacement pump - the one we had is no longer manufactured and can't be repaired.
Question: is there any risk that Roxborough would cut us off?
Speaking is Steve Jeffers, our Water Attorney
Are there any grants we can apply for to provide assistance for this issue?
Excellent question. We researched that with Mr. Jeffers and found that there are none available to us, specifically because we already have a reliable secondary source of water.
Sorry - a reliable primary source of water - Roxborough
When was the pump installed. Was there any warranty with the pump?
2013, no warranty with the pump
If we replace the pump will a warranty be available?
Likely a one-year warranty on parts and labor
ok, thank you.
